This patch aims to add Cannabis cigarettes to the FDD ANIMATIONS + MISSING ANIMATIONS PATCH for S.T.A.L.K.E.R ANOMALY 3.0 (1.5.1)
Fixed a bug with the FFMAP patch, where the marijuana and joint animations used the default Lucky Cigarettes animation instead of the custom joint and marijuana animation.

Updated the mod to work with the newest version of FDD + FDDMAP, each are their own patch now. Installation README.txt is provided.
I'll start adding the FDD mod version in the patch notes for easier compatibility, incase anybody is wondering what patch is for what build (:

This latest patch removes the need for the Joint and Marijuana items to hijack another asset, there will be no more double Marlborough! MedsDenier the absolute mad man figured out how to let the Joint and Marijuana have it's own animation asset, and explained it pretty well in the comments, thank you Meds Denier, may we all hit celebratory dabs!
NB79 figured out how to allow the Joint and Marijuana to produce smoke for added immersion, thank you for that NB79! (2021-05-23)

Welcome fellow stoners of the zone, being such a cabbage fan myself I thought the addition of Cannabis to the game was fun and hilarious, and upon downloading the beautiful Food Drug Drink animations + the Missing Animations patch, I was excited to be able to smoke a joint in game with the animations. The Food Drug Drink animations mod was missing the Joint smoking animation, and the Missing Animations patch only substituted the missing animations with existing ones the FDD mod added. Thus, my baked ass with no modding experience spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to immerse myself in a radioactive cannabis wonderworld and replace the cigarettes with RAW joints.
However during the endeavor I realized I'm pretty damn stupid and have no custom modding experience whatsoever, s̶o̶ ̶c̶r̶e̶a̶t̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶n̶e̶w̶ ̶a̶s̶s̶e̶t̶s̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶q̶u̶e̶s̶t̶i̶o̶n̶. Or so I thought, Thank you all so much, you beautiful community of stoners! Together, like monkeys, we strong; and new assets are now part of the question! (kind of) User/ MedsDenier helped figure out how copy a new asset from the existing animations assets and allow the Joint and Marijuana items to have their own asset by using the copied asset.
Adds animations for the Joint and Marijuana items, MedsDenier basically helped remaster this mod!
You must have FDD and it's Missing animations patch installed for this to work.

after you've installed these, FDD first and then the FDDMAP, you can install this by dragging the gamedata folder into your games directory and selecting replace all items. Very nice job. As a new mod author who has only made a single mod without prior experience myself, this is what a mod should be: lightweight and immersive. I wish that our Stalker wouldn't throw away a perfectly good joint after just 2-3 puffs, but I know how time consuming changing animations can be.

Can't wait to try this out once I get my cpu cooler replaced, water pump went out on it. I would love to know how you were able to change the textures of the pack and joints themself. I couldn't find a single program able to edit .anm files, I've been wanting to find a way to have the packs show the correct amount of uses left. Or like you did change something like, let's say the mineral water to look like beards tea.

I was able to edit one of the textures used for a cigarette animation and some configs to change one of the cigarette cartons into a cannabis joint carton, then made it so only the Joint and Marijuana items could use the animation with the edited textures. A down side of this is I had to replace one of the other cigarette animations with another. There are 2 Marlborough cigarettes basically, because one cigarette carton has to use another's animation since it's original animation as changed and is being used for the Joint and Marijuana items. Hope this was comprehendible! :)
It sounds like you found a good way to get it done. Do you mind me asking what program you use to edit the textures? I noticed they are .dds files.
Paint.net, it's free and essentially just better mspaint. I've found almost every texture/ui file uploaded in mods can be edited using it! The textures can be edited to really do anything, was thinking of adding a slav in a jumpsuit on the side of the THC cartons but decided not to, but it's really just a concept of whatever you want the item to look like. I got this crash error from using it with DX10, It works just fine in DX11 and DX8 textures on the box and cig are all black.

I'm very dumbfounded by simple things, such as crash logs, it's a foreign language to me that I've only ever gone to other people for help rather than figuring it out myself, so my patch for DX10 and DX8 might be a little later than expected, that being said, I am and will be working on it until an adequate fix or workaround is found. Also can you let me know if the textures work for the other cigarette packs in the FDD mod for DX8? That would help tremendously!
The other cigarette packs work in DX8, I managed to fix it myself after looking at the textures in MO2.
Your textures were saved in BC7_UNORM with No mipmaps the OG textures are in DXT5 Mipmapped, I just open and re-export it as DXT5 with auto Mipmap and it end up working in DX8 and DX10 with no crash.

Does this add Instrument animations? Like. Putting the harmonica in your mouth. Placing the guitar in your chest ( I think the guitar should just be in your chest moving around. Because if you show the hands you either gonna have to sync the movements of the hand or make it look like your character is just doing play-back lol)

No unfortunately, I don't own the software nor have the education to create custom animations, though the FDD mod is still incomplete, soon I believe they will add proper animations for all of the other actions in Anomaly. you could just keep the carton, and change the texture of the cig to look more like a joint. I know im not the only one who has stored a joint in your cig box along with cigs for save keeping. Great work by the way!
That was the original mod, the carton remained the same, and I wanted to change it to be a little more immersive. I'll add the new joint textures to the old box and upload it as an alternative texture in my latest patch. Though keep in mind this doesn't change the fact that another cigarette will still be different from it's item name, due to only changing assets and what can use those assets rather than adding adding a new asset for the joint, as I don't know how to make new custom assets yet.

Like the tobbacos in missing animations mod, when you smoke you don't have smoke coming out for some reason.
I've noticed this too, might have a fix for it. Didn't think anyone cared enough, but i'll start working on it!

just add some flag for smoke effect to your additional anims sections in anims_list.ltx and check it instead of hardcoded if for each item xDDDD
lol, its the first quick fix that crossed my mind and i made it quickly i didn't even thought much about it, i just wanted it to work.
It was bugging me that your textures replaced the cigarette asset, so I added it as a new asset so it isn't replaced after seeing the other cigs were re-textures of the main asset itself with a bit of trial and error.
I copied the ogf of one of the cigs and brute force it with notepad++ to read your textures instead of the normal one and added a line for it in items_anm_antirad.itx, I just renamed them joint also used FDD as the base but added the missing animations patch to stay compatible.
I added a zip with the stuff I did so you might get a better idea if you saw for yourself,The patch in my zip is different too since the old one crashed with the new edit I did.

I've just updated my mod as well, Hope I haven't caused you guys to much trouble with my late fix. I've been MIA from stalker for a few weeks now, but luckily I checked back in time last night and noticed the FDD update.
