Battlefield: 1942 is a tactical first-person shooter set in World War II. It introduces combined arms tactics, using tanks and dive-bombers, submarines and carriers, and machinegun nests with AA-artillery. Every aspect of WWII warfare will be accessible to a player and his friends from an FPS perspective, and the ultimate goal is to win enough campaigns to win the war.
For some reason NOBODY has uploaded the Pixel-Fighter.com proper compatibility fix for modern systems by itself, this sets BF1942 to run on single CPU since it has problems handling multi-core and allows the game to use Windows 98 memory management so big mods will work correctly (this isn't included in WinXP compatibility mode and full Win98 mode causes lag). AFTER INSTALLING REMOVE ALL COMPATIBILITY MODES ON BF1942.EXE BUT "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR" SHOULD BE ON. ALL CREDITS TO PIXEL-FIGHTER.COM, ORIGINAL SOURCE IN READ MORE... If you want to remove it for some insane reason it shows up in the Programs list.
All this did was install freakin trojan onto my computer. Thankfully my internet security stopped it from doing any harm. WHAT THE HELL are you doing uploading crap like this viruse onto this site!?!?!?!?!?!?!
What antivirus did you use? I'll try to send it to them to check.
18 scanners found no virus: Virusscan.jotti.org
Hi KevinL,
My antivirus/internet security software is by Kaspersky.
Thanks, I scanned with their online scanner here ( Scan.kaspersky.com ) and it didn't find anything but sent it to them to check in case, up to you if you want to use it or not.
Scanned with some more scanners and didn't find anything either:
Virustotal.com
huh, ill try it again sometime. ill get back to you
Same thing happened to me with Norton. It's not a banner or a popup, but the file BF1942.CP. It has a "Bad" Reputation, for whatever reason. Antivirus tends to do this a lot with little known fixes for games. It's probably a false positive, but proceed at your own risk.
jdc527 you might have got the trojan by downloading one of the annoying ad's software (Like a popup ad)
