Hello!
I'm a solo developer with a background in coding and 2D/3D art, which allows me to work on almost any game idea that pops into my mind. I have already published a couple of games on Steam. Currently, I'm working on a roguelite deckbuilding game set in a Cthulhu/Lovecraft-inspired world named Menace from the Deep. From the 25th of March, I managed to publish a playable demo v2, which is available on Steam.
I am a big fan of roguelikes and deckbuilders. I've played plenty of them, but I felt like I was missing something while playing. Different games have different advantages and disadvantages. So, from August 2023, I started to design my own roguelike deckbuilder, which I encourage you to play. I'm really proud of how it looks, how it plays, and the new features I'm trying to bring to the genre.
I encourage everyone to play the demo on your own, but shortly, I would like to list the features of "Menace from the Deep" that I missed seeing in other games I played:
- Every hero has 8 starting decks. So, every gamer may pick which one fits him/her the best and start every journey in the most comfortable way.
- Card-based traveling system. The player has a few travel decks and can peek at a few cards from above to plan his journey.
- The more you use specific cards, the more they upgrade, which reinforces those cards which the player prefers to use.
- Your hero is not alone; you can get allies and summon different creatures who fight on your side.
- 3 types of inventory items (relics, equipment, and consumables) which allow you to customize the hero during his journey and add a lot of variety.
- Every hero has its own skill and can gain other skills during the journey and even upgrade them.
- After a hero dies and ends his journey, the player may upgrade the buildings in the hub (base) to get bonuses and make his next journeys easier.
- Since it's a Lovecraft-inspired world, you should not only manage your HP but also keep your mind and manage sanity points.
- Deep, dark, and dramatic plot which explains what's going on in this world.
- The game is pretty hardcore; it provides a serious challenge.
As I already mentioned, play the demo and don't forget to wishlist if you like the gameplay and style.
PS: Even though I'm a solo developer, most of the locations were painted by my girlfriend(who is also an artist in a gamedev) in her spare time.
