How to use Chronicle Director:
I STRONGLY recommend backing up your chronicle directory before using this program.
To load an existing chronicle, select file, load chronicle. The arrangement of levels on the first load will not be user-friendly. You can move the maps around by dragging the icons into a more readable format. Once you have moved the icons, Chronicle Director will remember the new positions.
The first level you load will, by default, be the first level the players enter. If you want to change this, right click on the level and select 'Make this the beginning level'.
To add a level to your chronicle, select Level/Insert Level from the top menu. You may insert more then one level at a time using multi-select
To link two levels, hold down the control key while dragging the mouse from one map icon to the next. The connection will 'snap' to the level you are dragging it over. A window will then open, allowing you to select which exit numbers you want to connect for each level.
Use the Chronicle Settings option off of the File menu to change default flags for the entire chronicle. You can make a chronicle appear in MP by checking the 'Chronicle is meant for Multiplayer' flag.
Right click on a level icon to pull up the editing menu.
You may move the icons on the screen by dragging them.
To change the name that appears on the screen for a level, double click on the level icon and change the Map Name field. This field can not contain spaces.
Warning: Chronicle Director only retains comments from the beginning of a chorn file, before the first level. Any comments in the file after the first level will be lost.
Bugs
This is a work in progress. There are many features yet to be added to this program. If you have any comments, suggestions, bugs reports, or ideas, I want to hear about them. Please e-mail them to tomsm@dallas.net. Thanks!
