This is the friendly security drone out of Dragon Sector. Made into a standalone PK3 for you to use.
*** Dragon Sector Friendly Security Drone ***
---------------------------------------------
The Friendly Security Drone from Dragon Sector (The Remake). I'd gotten a request to split this off so someone could use it in their project, so here it is. :)
This drone is very powerful and very accurate. It's meant to deal with small to medium monsters, and can be effective against small numbers of large monsters. It has a very long range, so bear that in mind and make use of that advantage in your maps. Also bear in mind that you should avoid getting into its crossfire, since it can drain your health very quickly.
This originally started off as Gothic's Security Drone from Realm667. As time went on, though, and I converted it to ZScript, it morphed into its own thing.
Credits to Gothic for making a cool little drone that got us inspired. Three of his sounds are still being used.
Model credit goes to Abbs.
Texture modification and Brightmaps done by BarefootMapMaker.
Smoke sprites from Project Brutality.
Feel free to use this in your project. No credit to us is needed, but it would be appreciated.
The Actor Class name is "FSecurityDrone". You can summon the drone using this classname or add it to your editornumbers section in GameInfo to be able to place it into your maps.
Changes in 1.1:
-Made the drone's movement less erratic.
-It will now go flying and bouncing off walls when it dies. This does damage, as does the explosion.
10/10 👌
Glad you like it. I'm going to be releasing the bot, too. Just need to finish his effects.
I am getting "Jupiter Hell" vibes from this thing.
I'm not familiar with that one, so I'll have to give it a look.
It's the spiritual successor to Doom The Roguelike, made by the same devs.
Oh cool. So many games out there it's hard to keep track of them all. Just checked that one out, it does look fun, too!
I have a question how is this meant to work do you find while playing levels or do you have to spawn it
In Dragon Sector, you'll find these throughout the maps. This one's standalone, so you'll have to spawn it to use it, or add it to your own maps.
