The stand-alone mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly aims to be the most stable and customizable experience for fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It's powered by the Monolith 64-bit engine, a custom fork of the X-Ray engine.
A reposition mod for EFP and Shader 3D Scopes I created based on a little bit of realism, practicality, what I think looks cool. I'm done with hip-firing, I prefer point shooting, and this reposition emulates that!
Only a select few weapons are affected since I wasn't originally intending on making this public, however I am open to taking requests for individual weapons should someone ask!
Why did I make this? I'm so glad you didn't ask!
After finding the existence of the Shader 3D Scopes mod, I wondered how well it would work with EFP and the reposition mods it uses. Evidently, it doesn't play nice and all the weapons affected are weirdly positioned. Instead of waiting for someone else to come along and fix that, or god forbid just don't use that mod, I decided to do it myself!
I started with the M4A1 RAS with an ACOG that you start with as UNISG, and I decided that the normal hip fire position just wasn't that nice to look at, nor very practical. So I changed it and made it look decent, and what I see when I hold a gun. I then started making some of the rest of the guns in Shader 3D Scopes I would use work, as well as fit the point-shooting style I went with for the M4. That would have been that, but then I decided to change the 1911 modern. Then an APS I picked up. Then it snowballed, and now here we are!
Does it look good? I think so! Is it realistic? The guns point straight! Is it perfect? Nope! Can you use it for G.A.M.M.A./Base Anomaly? Probably!
I don't test this mod with a "vanilla" install, nor do I care to download 80 gigabytes of files to test this mod for G.A.M.M.A., however it should work fine! The only caveat is that it does require Blindside's Reanimation Pack for vanilla users!

- Launch through the Anomaly Launcher in MO2 and Delete Shader Cache
- Warning if updating from older versions: Requires the latest S3DS update as well as the latest Modded EXEs! Always reinstall both when updating this mod to be safe!

This is too awesome. I stopped using EFP because i wanted to use HD models and 3d shader scopes and some missing weapons pack and what not so i went back to vanilla and tried mods on my own. i hope this works in vanilla but i guess it's unlikely
Ideally it should work with vanilla since even without EFPWP an LTX call to a null weapon doesn't do anything, but Blindside's reanimation pack is affected since it has its own model files for some weapons, so that could cause issues.
After some testing, it does seem to work with vanilla! The only caveat is you also need to install Blindside's Reanimation Pack

Technically yes, but all weapons in S3DS will have strange positions, their 2D scopes will not activate, and possibly crash to desktop upon usage. If you want to use this mod while retaining 2d scopes, you'll need to still have Shader 3D Scopes downloaded, and you'll need to edit the LTX file in this mod and add the proper texture file calls to each of these guns. Pretty much anywhere that the line "scope_texture" is, you'll need to add the texture file line. I *might* do that myself an optional install at some point far down the road, but not definitely not any time soon.
Though I would like to ask, why wouldn't you want to use it with Shader 3D Scopes?
the answer is very simple: dx8 :(
I forget that exists and people play on it... After some testing, it would be possible to use this with DX8 and without the original mod by simply deleting the "meshes" folder, and the "mod_system_3ds_scopes" file in the configs folder. Otherwise, everything breaks. All S3DS weapons will still be messed up and you'll need to edit the scope texture calls in the LTX file, however you would just need to delete any lines with "scope_texture" if there isn't already a texture at the end of it.

I went ahead and just threw together a quick FOMOD installer with an install for DX9/8 compatibility. It is now out-of-the-box compatible, but the positions will still be off until I get around to fixing them, but that will take a while even if I take time off of completing the main project.

Yes, however some of the positions may be off, and you would have to delete the "models" folder in the mod file. It is heavily recommended to just use Blindside's reanimation pack to avoid any issues.
I don't know what I missed but the 3d scope doesn't work for me. When ADSing, I still use the 2D scopes. I'm playing in EFP 4.2 and using the latest modified exes too. What might be the problem?
Which gun are you trying to use and with which scope? In case you were misled by the mod description, only the guns that are from Shader 3D Scopes have the scopes, the guns under "Shader 3d Scopes:" in the Weapons Affected tab.
Can this reposition be used without the 3d scopes mod? That one just doesn't work for me. All I get is a black scope.
It can be used without Shader 3D Scopes, you just need to install the DX-8 compatibility version, however you should keep the Shader 3D Scopes mod active so the positions are correct. I would also suggest taking the "models" folder from your current installation of the mod and copying that into the new downloaded version under the "gamedata" folder
There may be a solution to your issue, however. What gun are you trying to use?
Have you installed the latest Modded EXE's, do you have the latest Mark Switch mod installed, do you have the latest Shader 3D Scopes mod installed?
Is your load order correct? The load order should be Lower Weapon Sprint, Mark Switch, Shader 3D Scopes, At The Ready Reposition.
