"Hi-Lo" overhauls the Load-out and Inventory items you are given when starting a new game. (Anomaly 1.5 Beta 3.0 Update 4 Hotfix 8)
(Anomaly 1.5 Beta 3 update 4 hotfix 8)
"Hi-lo" highly improves the default load-out of each faction and the selection of items you can choose when starting a new game.
Modifies: \gamedata\configs\items\settings\new_game_loadouts
Loner- Nothing special...some extra drinks, but no one to share them with.
Bandits- You have a lot of hard-core drugs, why? No one knows but you.
Clear Sky- Wow! That's a beautiful artifact you have.
Duty- Deadly Mutants!...Taste good with some seasoning.
Freedom- Hippy Stuff.
Mercenary- Being a hired-killer pays...you are considerably well off.
Military- You get paid to blow sh*t up! (Mil-Spec (military grade items, weapons, armor, meds)
Ecologist- You are big brain, let the brutes fight. Not suited for open battle, environmental focus. (Best possible Night-vision Gen III, best possible anomaly detector Gen IV, best possible medical/scientific equipment, close-range weapon setup, multiple outfit modules, etc.)
Monolith- Monolith...Monolith...
Install Instructions:
Unzip folder contents, move the gamedata folder included into your main game directory. Or use a mod manager. The readme contains a basic tutorial for editing the loadouts if you want to customize.
Compatibility: Absolute. This is a very "light" mod and should not cause any issues. Even if you un-install the mod, your save game will be fine.
Attention: This mod is not intended to be perfectly balanced. Some factions have better load-outs then others, item costs may not be perfect etc... The main purpose of the mod is to "IMPROVE" the load-outs from their default counterparts so all faction starts are relatively high-tier. Though, not 'everything' is given to the player. For example, only two factions start with exo-suits. Every faction load-out is designed to be "combat-ready" from day 1 with the most essential items and decent gear. This also indirectly solves other issues that arise when first entering the most dangerous place on Earth. For example, now you wont have to kill those 6 Monolith Commandos with your butter knife just so you can sell their rusty springs for a half-candy bar. Basically, now you can focus less on grinding early for that loaf of bread and more on staying alive and breaking hearts.
Updates: Will include more items, and a "Juggernaut" version will be out soon which will let ALL factions choose from the heaviest weapons/armors available such as rocket launchers, light machine guns etc.
Recommended gameplay settings: Hardest (hardcore ai aim, daytime radiation etc), lowest damage resistance, bullet damage 1.5x, set disguise settings low enough for 'deep cover' operations, warfare enabled, iron-man 1, life-granter 5 days, campfire saves, no-pause during combat, max_eye_range 350m+,
Fun Gameplay Ideas:
Recommended Mods: 50% Surrender chance, Headlamp Range 65m, Anomaly Magazines, Sky_bloom fix, Body based health, death_animations*, GhenTuong Tasks, Hi-Lo, illinaru_warfare_balance, JSRS Sound Overhaul 3.3, MisterKats Realism Tweaks, Radio_V3.1, Injury Audio Extended, Soundscape Overhaul 2.5, trader overhaul 1.17**.
Note-some mods listed may not be the official names, but they are all located in Anomaly add-on section. There are other great mods out there, sorry if I didn't list yours I probably just haven't got to it yet.
* edited m_stalker.ltx vision settings so npc can engage with gunfire at long range 300m+.
** Traders buy damaged, neutral traders, outfit extension.

Enjoy everyone! I put a considerable amount of time into the mod so I hope everyone has some fun with it. This is the first of many mods I plan to create so stay tuned.
Any feedback is welcome, and if you have thoughts or ideas on how the mod could improve don't be afraid to share.
Jesus...I know you said its not meant to be balanced but this is overkill
LoL...I hear ya...but overkill would be 10m rubles, free rocket launchers with 20 rockets, and fully upgraded exo suits and 32 sci-stimpacks...So its just slightly less then overkill :p
I put extra suits and guns in the inventory section if you want to downgrade your loadout, or just give all the stuff you dont want to some random NPC :D
I have to agree with @⎛⎝Altair⎠⎞
You start with so much equipment you cant even move without dropping most of it. Additionally its a top tier equipment, you could walk straight to the end with no issue.
Normally this wouldn't be an issue since I could just drop what is overpowered. However then I'm left with less than a normal game as you can not pick low or mid tier equipment in the loadout menu.
I would rather (and be grateful) if you made a version where each faction has nothing but you can choose exactly what to start with. Which would include low and mid tier equipment.
As a quick-fix I have added more low-tier options as per your request (m4,m16,ak74u,ak74m,trench-coat,novice outfit, mercenary suit, sunrise). I will consider making a version that requires you to buy all of the equipment instead of starting with most of it. Additionally, you can simply edit the file yourself to suit your desires.
"You start with so much equipment you cant even move without dropping most of it."- INCORRECT, even when buying extra equipment, after you equip your pack and armor you should not be encumbered. The only instance may be the ecologist after buying A LOT of extra heavy things. Please do not exaggerate details as it can hurt the mod.
"additionally its all top tier equipment, you could walk straight to the end with no issue."- This is kinda the goal, though I wouldn't say its all 'top tier', only the monolith and military get 'top-tier'...I'd say its high-tier mostly. It reminds me of Dark Souls, you can get to and beat the final boss with the equipment you start with. With my mod you are a fully armored knight ready for battle, not a deprived w/ no armor and no weapons.
"you can not pick low or mid tier equipment in the loadout menu."- Pick the helmetless seva suit and an mp5, drop everything else. I originally added the ghillie suit and seva as a backup plan if anyone wanted to downgrade.
I have added more low-tier options as per your request. Additionally you can simply edit the file yourself to suit your desires...For example if you are a Loner and dont want the Famas Rifle, go in the \gamedata\configs\items\settings\new_game_loadouts, find the stalker loadout section, and simply remove the full line containing "wpn_famas".
i started my game again as a Loner. a Hybrid Armor, USP45 , FAMAS with ACOG, PDA 3.1, Vex Detector, Hunter Kit, M9 Bayonet, Headlamp with night vision implemented and 10000 Rubles ? that's overkill af. i suppose we should started as a Loner with a set of gear a bit better than the original since it's ******* suck, but you just raise the gear's lvl into the level i dont think it's even suitable for a Loner to started at
As thoroughly explained in the mod description, readme, and comments...
YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE THE MOD YOURSELF TO SUIT YOUR DESIRES!!!
I even give a basic tutorial of how to edit the loadouts in the readme....If you want to implement your ideas/changes that YOU feel are appropriate it would probably take 2 minutes....
Besides that I have provided lower-tier options to choose from as a redundancy. Furthermore, you can simply drop the things you dont want...for example, if you like being blind at night then throw your NV goggles in the trash.
Alas, if anyone doesnt want to put the minimal effort required to change a few text lines in the .ltx file, then either dont use the mod, or there is a seperate add-on called "Better load-outs" that only adds a few more basic options but they are limited by difficulty.
Relative to the vanilla load-outs, where you go into the zone with a t-shirt and a broken pistol, yes these load-outs are overkill compared to that. The load-outs are subject to opinion. In MY opinion overkill would be fully upgraded Exo suits, railgun with infinite ammo, rpg, and 100 sci-stimpacks, etc.
The mod description fully describes all of the changes implemented. Its called "Highly improved loadouts", not "barely improved loadouts".
Basically without my mod you start as a LVL.1 Gopnik, with my mod you skip most of the grind and start as a LVL.100 Spetznaz...and if you want to start somewhere in the middle, I have even put lower-tier items to choose from that you can exchange when you get in the zone. Or make the changes that you want personally to the .ltx file.
Love it, customisable and well done. I have always wondered how you are expected to go into the zone with a pistol and shirt and not have some better gear.
Keep up the good work, much appreciated.
Thank you for the positive feedback, I completely agree to your point.
Hey everybody, just a little update...Things have been pretty crazy with the pandemic, so I hope everyone is being safe. This is a perfect time to practice your stalker cosplay in real life, bio-suit and everything. I'll probably spend some time later today updating the mod and polishing some of the rough edges. I also plan on adding some trader .ltx files so people can have easier access to item lists for customizing their own load-outs. Ill add a change-log for anything significant.
bro quick question here
whats the purpose of spaced character between the item name and the value?
also i had this addon installed Moddb.com and wanted to add em to my loadout but it the item doesnt appeared, is it bcuz i typed some wrong char?
bro never mind i did typed wrong char in the note
Just want to say thanks to the mod creator.
Good and fair balanced mod for anyone looking at downloading this.
that List so we can customize the loadouts ourselves will be awesome! Also more variety of early game weapons is always welcome.
