This mod gives stronger garrison to every faction in the game. Capitals have stronger garrisons. Also unlocks Warpath campaign units in the main campaign. Unlocks vanilla units and add some local garrisons.
[What this should mod do]
-Redone garrisons. I tried to create a garrison unit roster for every main factions (Euopean, Maratha, Mughal, Ottoman, Natives). There are colonial garrison units, global garrison units, regional ones. Maratha has stronger garrisons in India than in the Americas for instance.
-Capitals are extremely well defended with late game elite units and mortars. This is to make it harder for the player to just rush/defeat factions in a few turns (Netherlands for instance)
-I did not remove the base game armed citizenry but might do in the future depending on feedback. Unfortunately it would make the mod less compatible.
-I added new resources arrays, especially for capitals, in order to be able to have specific local garrisons.
-Added local units to the garrison of some regions (Miquelets for Portugal for instance).
-Special Amerindian units from Warpath should be in the game but it needs testing. The AI SHOULD be able to recruit them. The capitals of the main native factions should be defended by elite troops from the Warpath roster.
-Unlocked some vanilla units : Mountain Troops in Norway for Sweden, Clansmen in Scotland for UK (added more buildings to allow recruitment = coaching inn, bawdyhouse, encampment and barracks), Spain can recruit Miquelets.
-Garrison units are weaker vanilla versions of their regular counterparts. They should prove more challenging than the weaker citizens in arms but not too punishing at the same time.
-In theory this mod should be compatible with any other mod because I just added new content and did not touch the vanilla files. As this is my very first mod be aware that there may be some unexpected things that I will try to fix as they appear.
[Installation]
-Extract the two pack files in your Empire Total War Data Folder which should be located in steam>steamapps>common>empire_total_war
-Do a backup copy of the startpos.esf located under steam>steamapps>common>empire_total_war>data>camapigns>main
-Extract the .esf in steam>steamapps>common>empire_total_war>data>camapigns>main and replace.
-Create a text file named user.empire_script under User>AppData>Roaming>TheCreativeAssembly>Empire>Scripts
Write this line in it : "mod Vanilla_Tweaked_Garrisons.pack;" (without the qutation marks) and save using the UTF 16-LE encoding method.
