This removes the fake reflections on the vanilla weapon scopes, vanilla addon scopes and vanilla binoculars, which are baked in to the textures - Invented in age where r1 rendering was a thing.
So as in the readme, If you are one of those weirdos, that for some fu*cked up reason, still uses the vanilla weapons (like me), despite the insane amount of amazing weapon packs, raining down on stalker franchise, like ruble-bills on the only stripper in the zone, who is basically just bloodsucker with tits muati- I - I'm getting distracted. What I wanna say is that you might like this.
Anyways, It bugged me for LONG time, that in r2 and r3 the dynamic reflections are projected over the baked-in and quite outdated reflections.
I made this reskin (fix) some years ago, and now it just occured to me, that I could maybe share it, in case that somebody still plays with vanilla weaps.
It comes in two variants.
One for vanilla purists and one for old build purists whom use the, oh so very pretty warshava pact early build weapon skins (like me)
It is compatible with renaimations, cause it is a texture.
It is NOT compatible with any other re-skins for vanilla weapons.
It obviously replaces ONLY the texture of weapons, that have scope as part of their model, so that kick-ass pink desert eagle with manga waifu on the grip, that you have, will stay untouched, don't worry! =D So you can have cake and eat the pseudo dog too.

Old models are somewhat good, give them proper mirroring, better textures, and good animations, plus some model fixing and they're good as new :)
Once I learn how, I will =D so far everyone been like "nah better make new ones!"

I thought this might be to do with the ADS scope textures but it affects just the viewmodel weapons' fake scope reflections. Nice! :)
I never really noticed how bad the baked-in reflections were - with the exception of the FT200 (FN2000) which has a fairly ****** (unfinished?) texture to begin with (in the 'vanilla' .dds file, the location where the reflection is looks like a complete mess, lol).
I'll d/l and check this out for sure. :D
PS: I am one of the few who *does* use the vanilla weapons. :P

Heh, now I'm wondering what happened with my old 1.4.22 install - I just opened your fn2000 dds file and the vanilla one from a recent DB unpacking to compare, and the vanilla one doesn't look quite as bad as I recall.
Still not a great texture, tho :D
You have grown immune to their natural ugh-er quality.
Don't forget that those textures (and models) were around from about year 2002-2004 those are very very old models and textures. Which is why I'm mentioning the 15 years here and there, it is not because I can't subtract =D
