As a huge fan of Half-Life and the user-made content for it, I went and made a video talking about 25 (ish) single-player mods that are interesting and unique.
I hate the whole "like and subscribe" nonsense so I won't ask you to do so - just watching the video if it seems interesting to you is more than enough.
If you're interested in any of the mods on this list, they're (almost) all here on ModDB - links to each are provided in the video's description over on YouTube. The exceptions are the ones on Steam - C.A.G.E.D., HalfQuake and Half-Rats: Parasomnia.
Happy 25th, Half-Life!
Excellent ! so many good memories of the 2000's !!!! :love
Yes this was great! I wonder if there will be alot more mods to showcase in the future!? Because there are plenty more mods that are excellent, I'll have to dig around to find them.
Glad you enjoyed this. I might take a look at some other mods in the future.
Or I could do a deep dive into why I dislike Another Fate so much.
...whatever takes my fancy first. :)
I hope there are GI and AI in the list...
I think you're referring to Arctic Incident with AI, but I'm not sure what GI stands for - I can't find any single-player Half-Life mod with those initials.
Either way, no, neither an AI or a GI are on the list, though I will admit Arctic Incident is a very good mod that would absolutely be in a follow-up video (if I make one).
I think hes referring to Gman Invasion or Gmans Island Part 1 and 2. Gman Invasion is alright, but Gmans Island is fantastic.
Ah, I see. Yeah, I remember G-Man's Island being pretty good - I'd have to replay it to see HOW good.
I recommend some of the ones you recommend plus the following:
- Someplace Else
- Freeman's Revenge
- Deliverance
- Life's End
- Black Ops
- Smart Decoy
- The Xeno Project 1 and 2
- Visitors
- ETC 1 and 2
- Drug Barons
- The Gate
- Opposing Force - Military Duty
- The Challenger Deep 2
- CWC pack Initiative
- Edge of Darkness
- Signal Lost
- Report One
- Fate Reversal
- Black Mesa Sideline
- Residual Life
- Uriel
- Peaces Like Us
- Times of Troubles
- Todesangst 1 and Todesangst 2:Der Echte Feind
- Absolute Redemption
Though keep in mind, these are just the great ones I've played. And I've played the majority but I still am missing over 300 mods so there is plenty to discover and play. There are 650+ mods out there if we count the mods that are single maps.
Yeah, 650-700 sounds about right. I've managed to find quite a lot of them, so PM me if you want me to take a look through my collection for any you might be missing.
As for the mods you've listed... some solid picks there, but I also think they have their flaws - whether that being that they're too long (The Challenger Deep 2), too unfocused (Life's End) or just being outclassed over time (Freeman's Revenge).
Certainly wouldn't discourage people from playing any of them, but many are more "if you've played all the ones I recommended and you still want more, maybe give these a try as well".
"I guess they're operating on Valve time"
Damn, that one stung. Accurate tho.
Pretty cool!
Also: If you're gonna make a followup to this video, then be sure to mention "The Infected", "Signal Lost" and obviously both "Cry of Fear" and "Afraid of Monsters"
Nice video and nice mods, though I have to say that "Slimy Situation" mod looks leagues better than the rest of them, the creator must be some sort of genius ;)
bro i see you everywhere, how
What about Heart of Evil (Original)?
