A bugfix, rules compliance, and expanded content modification for Troika's 'The Temple of Elemental Evil.' CLICK 'READ MORE' FOR SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS, COMPATABILITY NOTES, AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The Circle of Eight front end utility, TFE-X, requires Microsoft Net Framework version 2.0 or higher to run. Most modern systems already have this installed. To check if it's installed on your system, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and look for 'Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.' Versions 2.0 and above are compatable.
COMPATABILITY NOTES
The Circle of Eight Modpack is compatable with all retail versions of ToEE, including the boxed, jewel case, and Good Old Games download versions.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: INSTALL ATARI PATCH 1
If your version of ToEE is not pre-patched, install Atari Patch 1. It is available here: Sorcerers.net
STEP 2: INSTALL ATARI PATCH 2
If your version of ToEE is not pre-patched, install Atari Patch 2. It is available here: Sorcerers.net
STEP 3: DO NOT INSTALL ATARI PATCH 3
There is no need to install Atari Patch 3. The only additional feature Atari Patch 3 contains is a fix for the infamous DirectX 9.0c looting bug, but this particular issue is also fixed by the Circle of Eight Modpack. If you have installed patch 3 already or if your game comes pre-patched with Atari Patch 3, don't worry. It doesn't matter.
STEP 4: INSTALL THE CIRCLE OF EIGHT MODPACK
Double click the Circle of Eight Modpack Setup utility to begin installation. When prompted to choose an installation location, make sure to select the location where your game is installed. The default location is C:/Program Files/Atari/Temple of Elemental Evil, and most boxed and jewel case games will have been installed to this location by default. The Good Old Games version of ToEE will have been installed to C:/Program Files/GOG.com/Temple of Elemental Evil by default. If you are using the Good Old Games version of the game, you must manually select this directory. If you have installed ToEE to a custom location, regardless of which version of the game you are using, you must manually select that directory to install the Circle of Eight modpack to.
Follow all on-screen promps. After the modpack has been deployed, the Circle of Eight front end utility, TFE-X, will automatically launch.
If this is a new installation, TFE-X will perform the necessary operations to convert your installation for use with the Circle of Eight Modpack. Be patient; this can take some time. When TFE-X is finished, it will report the status to you in a popup window. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THIS POPUP NOTIFICATION WINDOW, THE CONVERSION IS NOT COMPLETE. DO NOT CTRL-ALT-DEL OUT OF THE TFE-X APPLICATION. WAIT FOR THE POPUP WINDOW. Next, select the Circle of Eight Modpack from the TFE-X menu and click 'activate.' This can also take some time. WAIT FOR THE POPUP WINDOW TO TELL YOU THAT THE MODULE ACTIVATION IS COMPLETE. DO NOT CTRL-ALT-DEL OUT OF THE TFE-X APPLICATION. After the module has been activated, you may customize various options through TFE-X and launch the game.
If this is an existing installation to which you are simply adding the Circle of Eight Modpack, simply select the Circle of Eight Modpack from the TFE-X menu and click 'activate.' This can also take some time.
We hope you enjoy the Circle of Eight Modpack for ToEE!

Link seems to be broken.
The main link is broken, but if you can get the frame up and quickly hit mirrors, the Texas server worked for me just now.
You can also get it at the Circle of Eight's site.
Here's a link Co8.org
Scroll all the way down and click on the picture of the version you want.
That just links back here. ;)
The links go down here from time to time. If they do, just click a mirror site as described above. There's all kinds of mirrors, so you'll easily find one (or many) that's working.
Please update the link.
All dl mirrors from gamefront and desura are broken for 6 months.
I just tried them all and they all work, plus we've been steadily getting downloads all along.
Gaer, Idk if it's dependable from one place to another, but I tried it a=on a different pc and it happens every time.
Every download is being interrupted just before completion.
I was also told that sometimes desura links go down. If that's true then it must be my bad timing...
I tried downloading too (from a random mirror in the Netherlands) and it worked fine for me, so the problem's probably not on ModDB's end. Are you using a download manager or anything like that?
Used or not a dl manager, 3 pc 's and a laptop tested, all mirror tried, with google Mozilla and/or Interner Explorer, whether with a cable or wifi, 3 people saw that and tried their way, but I guess the only problem is that here in Greece most dl mods are not available all the time. Next time I'll try with condom on and yellow shoes...
I'll wait for the next version, if any, next time.
cannot download the modpack. deeply disheartening... all this labour and exhaustive effort by the mod developers and apparently a lot of people who want the modpack just....can't....get it. Anybody have a reliable solution to this hurdle?
Who are all these people who just...can't...get it? We haven't heard word one about any problems on our boards.
Currently the download link for 6.1.0 points to Gamefront. What happens when you click on that link? It works fine for me.
Hello Gaer or anyone else who can help,
first off, thanks for developing an amazing mod, so much hard work and done so well, the game is lots of fun.
and secondly, i hope it is ok to post my problem here, i have tried the forum but no replies.
I have run into a problem, where around day 60, no matter what i do, i get a CTD whenever i enter a Hommlet exterior map, whether from the world map or from a building in Hommlet(or from the Arena of Heroes, and i have even tried Teleporting into Hommlet)always CTD.
if i reload prior saves, everything is fine, until i rest or pass time till around day 60. I have tried so many variations on doing or not doing quests, on different group members, and lots more.
I promise i have not used the console, and i have been careful to follow all the tips on successful gaming.
i have been thinking it is some kind of timed event where i meet someone in exterior Hommlet, but i really do not know.
so if anyone has any ideas, or just please reply to say that my problem is very obscure, and my best course of action is to restart with the oh so exciting version 7 NC.
i wish i could just remove some files with timed events or something and finish this game with access to Hommlet.
thanks you for your time and consideration, I know everyone is busy with version 7.
thanks again for all the hard work
