The "2021 Update" was an important step to bring more consistency to our mod. We are now working on a big update that will take the visuals to the next level. We have also opened an addons section where players can contribute their own custom content to enhance the experience with our mod.
What can you expect from the next update :
1/ Reworked TOD on almost every map, with both subtle and more noticeable changes. Here are some examples from the Village Map, where we created a sunnier mid-day tropical TOD.
2 / Thousands of extremely high quality decals placed on almost every map to add more variety and life.
3 / PCSS-like shadows and tessellation to add more realistic shadow behavior and improved geometry for many assets. Please note that the pictures were taken in the editor and may appear blurry as a result.
You can see the impact of tessellation here : Tessellation
4 / Global rework of some materials/textures to improve the look of certain assets. For example, we added a subtle diffuse specular effect to this wood material.
5/ Use of volumetric clouds to add better cloud shading and improve the overall appearance of the sky.
Thank you all for your kind comments, and stay tuned for more updates.
Wow, this is so nice!
Thanks Alex!
WHOW thanks for doing this, can't wait to play with this new update!
Great work, keep it up!
Huly Fek, it literally is looking like Unreal Engine 5.
Nice !
Just, WOW. Your talent and vision for this game is not only inspiring, but has far outdid itself each time. I feel not even Crytek knew of this engines abilities. Cryengine 2 is very much alive. Thank you for all you have done.
Looing forward to this release.
Great looking mod! Better than the official Remaster.
Can someone tell me what are the recommended PC specs to run this properly at 1080p over 60fps and maxed out?
I know my Ryzen 3600 OC to 4.4Ghz is not enough because of the old CryEngine, so what CPU do I actually need to run this over 60fps at all times?
There isn't any. That's the point. Crysis at the time was made in mind with CPUs having higher clock speeds. So it doesn't matter how many cores you throw at it. Yours is already OC'd to 4.4 Ghz. Unless you want to OC even further to 5.0, possibly making it unstable, you won't get more frames than you already do. Crysis is notorious for almost NEVER having consistent FPS above 60. The most you can hope for is that it doesn't drop below 40.
I have to admit, I played a recent Far Cry game and it just made me miss Crysis, because the world of Lingshan Islands is SO MUCH more dynamic and alive than anything that Far Cry has to offer these days! It's amazing that the engine is still capable of stuff that looks great even for modern standards, and this mod brings it back to current gen at least texture wise. It's sad that the official remaster was worse in almost every aspect except raytracing, I wish there was a way to bring that to Cryengine 2 as well!
Dios!!!!!!! ya lo quiero probar y por supuesto que vamos a colaborar con Patreon
