A small video showing some new TROR construction now possible, 13 years later. And a small tutorial showing key more obscure features simple and not annoyingly.
some pics showing its not BS
So much new things
- 64 bit and 32-bit version with launcher and gfx settings and sdk launcher
- Performance is now pretty damn great even tested on high end ATI 6XXX series model
- Secret Level
- Level tweaks and fixes GALORE
- New enhanced textures with spec height maps
- Tons of additional duke plus tweaks and fixes
- TROR construction added where possible.
- restructured assets for better Linux compatibility
- will have its own "Eternity" folder instead of being hacked into dukeplus
- gloves are back baby!
So get ready for a polished AAA 8 level duke episode in the coming weeks when this patch is finalized.
Sounds awesome! One question though:
Is it possible for Duke's kick to be a 3d model rather than a hires sprite? I've never modded Duke (or any build engine game), so I'm not sure if you can.
If it's already a model, is it possible for it to be animated smoother?
if fans want to add in these things with enough quality and enough new features to warrant a further "enhancement" patch they are more than welcome.
DNE will be far more mod freindly with some great tips on how to code the effects seen in DNE's maps.
animations like that are not exactly easy to make in the time frame i have given, not that iam rushing it, but its more of a minor issue
i thought this was a a doomsday high res texture thing like the one of shadow warrior ,witch never finnished :(
Video shows some really awesome work, great job!
does this still have terrible performance, or has that been fixed already? When I say terrible performance I mean the ridiculous hardware requirements.
no its way better than before or ever, the actually game base is nearly or over 2000 revisions of eduke32 than the DNE of 2011
64-bit runs great, tested on an ATI 6XXX high end series even and ran pretty well, glad the ATI problems are somewhat sorted out ( dont have an ati so can't really test this stuff)
