It's been a ride.
ㅤㅤ
It is with heartache and deep sorrow I have to announce the version of Fatal Peek you knew and were waiting for has been retconned.
Throughout the year, we've been rewriting the lore over and over, to the point of retconning Peter & Jade, Ravenhood, Ike being alive and -- without even realizing -- the mod slowly turned into an alternative version of HN2 and Search & Rescue. We realized only after SAR's ending that HN itself is already going in the same direction FP was taking recently. I don't feel like reverting the story changes and go back to a cheap uninspired mod just to not remake an official game, it's not worth my or the team's time.
I've been thinking over and over, we genuinely tried to keep this project together for months, but I realized at this point it'd be better to start from scratch.
And... We don't have time for that. Even if we want to, all we can really do is finish the other project in our roadmap, and then let the future drag us to whatever it's planning for us. This choice isn't ours, we're all growing up in this team and we're all starting to realize what responsibility truly is. Fatal Peek was a fan project, a (obviously) no-profit mod we were working on because we had a lot of free time. But that time is gone now, huge apologies from all our team.
If you were a fan of this project, please don't be sad for its "cancellation". Play Search & Rescue, HN Diaries, and wait for HN2 updates. We promise you're not missing much.... No, like- LITERALLY not missing much.
Little Example of what we mean:
It's silly how we are constantly predicting Eerie Games Studios's moves behind the scenes
We're not leaving you all empty-handed, "Hello Neighbor - Curse Retold" has been in development for a long time and it is near completition. A high effort reboot of an experimental mod we made 2 years ago. The mod is a re-telling of the first Hello Neighbor 1, following the final lore for it while also bringing back mechanics and artstyles that many people have been hoping to see again. The mod has randomized puzzles (that also change layouts of the houses), multiple endings, 3 Acts, and a lot of thought put behind the re-telling of HN1's story. There won't be any custom plot, it's our little personal love letter to Nikita's work before we move on.The reboot will release very soon, hopefully this summer. It will take around 5-6 hours to finish it completely and see all the variations of the acts in a blind playthrough, so there's quite a lot of content waiting.
Rest In Peace Fatal Peek, You were one of the goats For HN Modding.
Hopefully we'll manage to get back on it
