In early 2013, I watched a video of an obscure FPS game called "Exploding Lips", a game that pretty much made no sense and pretty much sucked. Yet for some reason I liked it anyways, so I decided to make something inspired by the game.

After I had made the mod and released it on halloween 2013, sometime in 2014 I decided to expand the mod further, adding many more levels, enemies, powerups, weapons, and more, adding several more hours of gameplay. Now explore beyond just the mansion, clean out the infestation of the city, discover what is hidden within the nearby volcano, and ultimately find the person behind the mayhem!

I've played the latest version, Darsycho, and I think what you made is brilliant. I checked out the few videos which exist on You Tube on the obscure game Exploding Lips, and I must say, you've proved that the content for a game such as that could still work with the right engine and design. From what I saw of Exploding Lips, it seemed like a very experimental and existential game which interesting textures, sprites, and level design ideas, but didn't know how to make it all work or flow right. You took the unique weirdness of Exploding Lips, and polished it for the better in Doom II's engine. I liked how you combined Exploding Lips' weapons with aspects of Doom's and Hexen's weapons, and I like how you implemented the Strife civilian as the main character (Exploding Lips' character sprite looked like a freaky 3D gray Pinnochio warrior). This just makes me think of other unique yet badly executed FPS games which could work better as mods for other classic games.Good work across the board, Darsycho.

I have been playing 'Mayhem Mansion v0.7 (LATEST)' but when I get to the point to find the Alpha, Beta and Omega items I can pick up Beta and Omega and they appear in my inventory BUT When I pick up Alpha it disappears and is NOT added to my inventory SO I can't open the portal. I'm stuck.

Any idea why this would happen?

People have been reporting this issue a lot lately, and I'm not even sure what's up, as it works fine on my end. =/
I have an idea that _may_ fix it, but since I'm not getting the bug I can't really tell.

NM, I watched the video walkthrough on Youtube and saw the only next step was to go through the portal then click on the hand to end the game heh. So I was pretty much done anyway.

How do you play it on zdoom?

You create a shortcut from your zdoom.exe file (preferably on the dektop) then right-click the shortcut and choose 'Properties'. Then in the 'Target' field where it shows your 'zdoom.exe' right after that add ' -file MayhemM_EE_v0.7.pk3'. Of course you have to have put the 'MayhemM_EE_v0.7.pk3' into your zdoom directory.

So my zdoom is on my E: drive so the 'Target' field looks like:

E:\zdoom\zdoom.exe -file MayhemM_EE_v0.7.pk3

Now when you click the shortcut it should launch the game (you may have to choose a valid doom.wad or doom2.wad from a window that may open).

Or you could just drag MayhemM_EE_v0.7.pk3 over zdoom.exe

So, I'll have to update mayhem mansion once again (v0.7)
There's multiple bugs in level 6 that will stop you from continuing on.
