3 performance mods in this file:
- A life less switch distance and auto switch tweak.
- Weather tweak, more fog = more fps.
- Less people in crowded areas.
So we, people with weak PCs have to make some tweaks to get better FPS,
Here i share this 3 with you.
Edited weather with more fog = less vision distance = more fps.
Less people in crowded areas like Rostok, Yanov etc, Rookie village etc. To avoid fps drops in this areas.
150 instead of 750 switch distance for more performance, and auto switch tweak to reduce lags.
This switch distance tweak does the same as this other file i uploaded, i included it here for convience.

A lot more FPS "guaranteed".
Have a good day!.
Modified version:
Option for even less vision distance, more fog.
thank you
Hello! Curious changes and probably really useful, but there are questions, I would like to clarify something:
1) The varied weather available in Anomaly will not change, but there will always be fog, in all locations, 24 hours a day, right?
2) Population reduction changes only affect large camps in certain locations?
But this will not in any way affect the number of NPCs and their activity in locations outside the camps, right?
Do you need a new game? Or will it be possible to play with the old saves?
For example, yesterday I created a new character (mercenary) and set the population of stalkers to 0.25 and mutants to 0.5. In the "Dead City" in the mercenary camp, I saw no more than 12 NPCs, but my character is in the "Zone" for less than a day, after all, it then gradually supplements the NPC in the course of time, as I understand it.
Does the population parameter matter here at all? And how much fewer NPCs will be in the camps with your changes?
By the way, a real "Battlefield" is constantly taking place at the "Red Forest" location.
3) I looked at the configurations that you changed, in two places I saw "150" instead of "750" provided by "Anomalies" by default. And if I change the numbers to any of: 200, 250, 300, 350 and the like, but less than 750 (by setting, of course, in both configuration items, where "150" is now written there the same number of your choice), will it work? Will there be an increase in frames per second ???
I think that 150 is probably not enough, perhaps I would set myself 500 or even 600, but not more.
P.S. I used google translator, my knowledge of english is not so good as to write without it in a foreign language for me. I hope the meaning of what I wanted to say is conveyed correctly.
The weather will change like normal but,
For example clear weather normal distance is like 600 or 700 now is 320, you will have less vision distance, NOT that there will always be foggy weather.
Population reduction makes it so they can't stay at large camps, like Rostok etc, they need to go somewheer else because the max population of the place was reduced, so actually i think there will be more people somewhere else, instead of being 10 squads at rostok etc, but you need to wait for the changes to take effect or start a new game.
You can set both switch_distance and switch_distance_normal or something like that its named to for exampñle 300 or 400 and you will still get more fps than the default 750 of course.
Good. Thanks.
Then it is worth clarifying even more:
1) At a certain distance, fog will always be visible, which will hide the visualization of objects in the world, right? This will give an increase in FPS, as I understand it.
2) Do all large camps have the same maximum number of NPCs with your edits? And what is the maximum parameter it has at all?
For example, the limit costs no more than 12 NPCs (conditionally) in the camp, I load my drive, and there were already 15 NPCs or even more, what happens? Over time, the "extra" NPCs will leave the camp and go somewhere for a walk, and then the limit of 12 NPCs in the camp will not be exceeded? Or is my game over?
And I want to understand if it makes sense for me to use your edits if my stalker coefficient is 0.25.
3) It would be great to know the average length of locations in the game in order to understand what parameter of the simulation distance is enough so that the simulation of life does not go beyond one location, but covers it all, with the exception, perhaps, of such large ones as: Jupiter station, Zaton , for example.
These are the two parameters that you edited (after all, you didn't change anything else, right?), putting "150" there, and for which parameter and what exactly is it responsible for? And is it important that both parameters have the same numerical value?
...Less vision distance = more fps sure.
I don't know if the population tweak is worth if you have the population so low, maybe yes, you can open the files and see max_population i think i made them all 1 i don't remember.
Yes they need to leave the places, i don't think you need a new game, just wait. I thin you can uninstall the mod if you don't like it and people would reapper i guess i don't know.
In call of pripyat the switch_distance was 150 i don't know why in anomaly they made it so long considering it decreases performance a lot, and you will not see much after 250-350 meters anyway, 250 is perfect for sniping i say too.
When auto_switch is set to true, it grabs the switch distance from "switch_distance_normal" instead of "switch_distance" but i made them both the same just in case.
Thanks comrade.

You can also download Call of Chernobyl, extract its textures and levels, make a gamedata folder for them and put inside MO2 mod folder.
It can be quite tiring downloading CoC and then extracting its files only to extract again in AXR Toolset (textures and level files are in .db format) but the benefits are well worth it, you can also install CoC Absolute Nature Redux to make the visual more pleasing without losing fps.
While the levels folder is optional, it is still recommended because CoC LOD looks better than Anomaly LOD and gives a nice fps boost.
Anyway,I liked the less crowded areas, I'm definitely going to download it, thank you.
But isn't Yanov Station already a empty place with few stalkers there? and so does every stalker camp in the north.
there is an addon that literally brings back all the call of chernobyl textures as you just said: Moddb.com
Yes.. but the performance boost is rather small compared to CoC's "pure textures", I really have no idea why.
well, the thing is that you get increased loading times (on HDDs is a lot more than original anomaly) also there's a lot of unrelated textures that will break things like huds and uis. saying this because I tried it but failed
Yeah, I also had long loading issues as well, apparently it had something to do with some unnecessary files from level folder wich are Spawn.ai and Level.ai, there is also the Meshes and "wpn" folder wich is also unnecessary and thus it can be safely deleted. As for the broken UIs and HUD, just delete UI and HUD folders, they are inside textures folder.
Зерк.Привет.)Не могли бы вы выложить пак CoC на скачку?Как отдельный мод.Без UI и HUD.
Sorry I can't do it because the unpacked files size is 5 gb, it will take forever to pack the files, even longer to upload and download. Its more faster to just download CoC via torrent, size is just 3 gb.
thanks for your suggestion, i tried it on my potato laptop and it works like a charm, i literally got back a new anomaly!
i found out coc's lod is what gives huge boost in performance, is there a way to use coc levels only but with anomaly textures?
edit:
yes it's possible, with a few exceptions.
there's a modification that increase the performance by setting the anomaly textures to a different resolution (1024x1024), but dunno which is preferable to use if that's the purpose.
you're, a genius
What is the actual procedure for doing this? Ive downloaded the axr but dont know **** how to use it...
Awesome addon! but can you post some screenshots to compare with/without the mod?
There is not much to see, you get more fog, in clear weather like 320 instead of 600 for example, and big camps have a lot less people. And fps in general are giong to raise.
If someone likes to see far away, i'm afraid the weather tweak is not for them.
I'm only using the fog part on a new game (story). My system isn't powerful, this has helped so far.
The a life tweak gets you more and it doesn't downgrade graphics, its just that npc will not be 'online' far away on maps.
Lately i wanted to play the game with more fog, wanted a silent hill vibe on the zone so much, left only foggy weather and still wasnt enough fog... fren, i love you. 10/10 because is two birds with one stone with more fps, thanks so much, seriously thanks.
glad it was useful.
Works perfectly. Thanks a lot for this ;-)
cool fix i love you man :)
this mod compatible? with *Ultimate DX8 Graphical Enchancement*
Most likely
Which config file controls population for rostok?
Just wanted to say, thanks a lot for the add-on, not everyone has a powerful pc so this is very helpful.
Though while playing I had an issue, for some reason the ''Less people in crowded areas'' part of the add-on despawns Lukash and the medic from the Army Warehouses, I confirmed by creating new games both with and without that part and noticed that using it removes them from their smart terrains.
Enabling the add-on mid playthrough moves Lukash to the medic's house and the medic gets moved outside to the campfire located East of Lukash's room.
What's the changelog for this new update? :)
I added an option with more reduced vision distance, vanilla clear is 600, the first weather fog mod is 350 the new one is sort of 210.

can anyone else confirm? if boomsticks is enabled with this addon alife, it will somehow breaks other addon such as fdda, bhs, mags redux when entering red forest. like you could play sin and spawn and those addons would immediately bug.
That doesn't make sense, the alife tweak has nothing to do with things like fdda etc. I've been using it since forever without issues.
for some reason this is happening with me too, i cant find any solution
which values should i change to increase a bit the fog distance?
Hi, with the Less people in crowded areas option I have some traders disappear in Army Warehouses, the option still gives me a lot of FPS, is there any way to fix that? :(
Hi, sorry late, i have noticed the leader sometimes wander off, idk if its my mod but not traders, but anyway, you could grab the original file and edit it instead of lowering to 1 or 0 the populations, lower it less and see what happens.
