The Red Alert, developed by the mod team of C&C Labs (makes of The Forgotten and C&C All Stars, undertakes one of the most ambitious tasks in C&C modding: to recreate and improve upon an original game. The mod, in development for Red Alert 3, is based off the original Red Alert's art and game play. Not aiming to model realism, it instead endeavors to bring the addictive heart-pounding game play of the classic to a world-class 3D engine, to bring back all of the classic units, including those from Aftermath, and to recreate the very "feel" of its art style. With The Red Alert, epic tank battles, MiG attack runs, and Cruiser strikes will be more than just fond memories — they will all be weapons in your arsenal once again! The experienced C&C Labs mod development team seeks an additional 3D model and texture artist for an unannounced project (in the Real Time Strategy genre, featuring modern day units). The 3D artist will join our team and help us establish and build out the art direction of environments, units, and structures. You should be able to use 3DS Max and Photoshop. If desired, you can have input into the balancing process itself. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their portfolio and teamwork experience with a high-profile team that has connections within the industry. We are very open to structuring your work in a way that suits your schedule and that will get your the portfolio benefits you require. A number of our former team members have gone on to jobs as professional artists or have been admitted to competitive art institutes, and we happily write recommendations and references for those who have contributed to our projects.
