We ******* love mods! I'm sure that's no surprize to anyone. And after the paid modding saga blew up it is clear that millions of you out there love mods also. Mods are such an important part of PC Gaming - but it occurred to us that until the community found its voice a few weeks back, we mostly took all the hard work and effort mod teams put in (while asking for nothing in return) for granted.
Introducing #modlove2015
We felt it was time to change that by raising awareness for our favorite mods, so developers know their effort is enjoyed and appreciated by many. It's the least we can do, and with more games supporting modding today than ever before we need to encourage game developers to continue working on keeping their platforms open and mod friendly.
Get involved!
This week you may have noticed every mod on the site has a "love bar" shown on their profile, which looks a little like this:
Just click any of the handy links provided, then post a message with a link to the mods profile to help raise awareness and appreciation for your favorite mods. Or follow these steps:
- It doesn't matter where your favorite mod is hosted be it on Run Shoot Think Live, GameBanana, Curse, Steam Workshop, Nexus or Mod DB.
- copy its URL then write a post explaining why you like that mod (you could write this post on your blog, in a forum, a tweet or facebook) the more we share the better.
- Tell us about your post by linking to it in the comments here.
- At the end of the week we shall be picking a few lucky members who left a comment following these rules at random, and giving them a key to one of the games listed below as thanks for helping us celebrate mods!
Game giveaway
We have partnered up with many awesome games that either support mods, or began their life as a mod and will be giving them away to participants. We've got hundreds of keys for the games listed below - just follow the steps above to be eligible to win!
Don't miss this chance to promote the mods you love and win awesome mod-friendly games! Time is limited...

I like the idea of the mod since it interests me about how it will be done, since converting Gldsrc maps over to Source is quite difficult!
Just so everyone knows we have been generously given OVER 500 keys to handout for the awesome games listed above. Good chance to win - so thank you for participating and helping us tell modders they are loved.
Hello. I would like to say that I just made an tweet of one more of my fav mods, this time it is a mod for Medieval 2 total war.

Excellent stuff! I hope it becomes a success!
And thanks to Moddb/IndieDB for their contribution to it all!
Greatly appreciated Sph!nx, we hope too!
Do you have some mods that you'd like to promote?
It's an old one, but still active "Sven Co-op". It has given me many years of fun. I was very active in the community as moderator and even developed some stuff officially (Minor assets) and unofficially (Huge TC called "Land of Legends").
I can't really promote other mods because I'm more invested in the indie scene for the last couple of years.
I'm afraid I don't use any social media, blog or the sorts to spread the love...
I do know that all mods deserve some more recognition!
Indeed, we have a lot of great indie games here haha
I've posted this on reddit to show the best mod for ArmA3.
These guys from RHS do a insane good job, there addons are high quality and got a lot of nice features.
Only with mods like this one is arma3 for me playable.
Btw. they won the 'MakeArmaNotWar' Contest

Edit times is so short and I found another good ones.
The Armed Zone for Misery2 because more toys is always good.
VtM: Bloodlines Patch Mod by Wesp5. Absolute diehard fan of the game, still give the love after decade of the release. If every modder could be that good, the world would be beatiful.
Diablo: The Hell
Almost every hack'n'slash is about relaxing chopping. This time it's opposite. Sweat and tears, whole cup.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Wormwood
Great overhaul mod, feels like creators learned all lessons from mod creation.
Gothic 2 - Enhanced Edition
Roll all the way though detailed world, once familiar, now rearranged with new ideas and concepts.
Ultimate Apocalypse for Dawn of War: Soulstorm
As the title state.

I've shared my favorite mod on Reddit/r/fallout. My all-time favorite mod ever is a Fallout 3 mod that combined the game with the Cube movie series. The mod adds an underground facility like the one in Portal 2 that can be explored and has been filled with some puzzles.

Because it makes Stalker Shadow Of Chernobyl look fantastic!
Stalker Shadow Of Chernobyl (no offense to any fans) doesn't look that visually impressive today, and while that's more of a minor issue, somebody (True Zone Projects) went out of their way to make this fantastic mod.
I tweeted bout' it on my twitter (@DerpIsNotHerp)
Take a look at my Half-Life mod - Base Defense.

Thank you.
Thank ModDB for this opportunity to share my mod and whole community for reviews and comments.
Amnesia - The Dark Descent
Mod: The Great Work
Set in diffrent, awesomely done locations featuring Britain and Europe,
with high quality crafted maps, and amazingly well written, interesting
story, which in my humble opinion is a pure diamond among all the other
mods. It will take you on a stunning adventure, full of various puzzles,
and creepy events, on over 7 hours of gameplay. This mod has the best
atmosphere ever done in Amnesia modding, featuring true, suspense based
horror, instead of non - scary, pathetic jumpscares. There is also high
quality voice acting. I should also add, that you should be careful,
because unlike many other mods, this one contains custom enemies that will
give you nightmares you've never had before.
Nothing else to say, just download it, if you own Amnesia. It is truly a
genius masterpiece crafted with love and passion.

I'm currently hyped up for Deus Ex Revision as stated in the tweet., this mod seeks to completely enhance the original Deus Ex with upgraded graphics and with work being done with the maps. I would recommend this mod to any fan of the original Deus Ex given the amount of work that is being done with it, and especially because of the amount of communication between both the devs and the community.
Tale of Two Wastelands. Playing from the start of Fallout 3 to the end of Fallout New Vegas was amazing.

This mod holds a very special place in my heart. It was the first mod I ever played.
When I was little, I played Homeworld every day. I love the game. One day, my dad installed something to it. Now, I had only heard of Star Trek but never actually watched it. This mods introduced me to Star Trek, and the wonders of modding. I love mods, and this is the one that got me started.

God bless y'all. God bless the people who made this. And God bless those who make mods.
Dangit, forgot the Twitter post, here y'all go! ;-)
This is a tweet of my fav mod! C:
my favorite mod is alchemilia, it was awesome: scary, confunsing and it really messes wihth your mind without even needing battles
Posted on reddit's r/gaming about G-string, a gem in the rough HL2 modding scene! Loved the atmosphere and large maps, storytelling and scenery, even in all of its "HL2 mod-era" roughly-polished glory!
