A big thank you to everyone who has voted for us so far in the Indie of the Year 2010 awards! We have made it over the first hurdle and into the top 100 upcoming indie titles and hoping to make it even further with your help.
As a big thank you to everyone who has supported us so far we have an extra special announcement. Originally we said our teaser trailer would be released on the 8th December, but as we have had snow in the UK this week we are all feeling extra festive. So we thought it would be nice to release it early!
This video should hopefully give you a small taste of quality of visuals and atmosphere that The Spire will have to offer. Audio is something we feel can often be underplayed in games especially in the smaller budget titles yet it plays a massive part in building an atmosphere. Therefore we wanted to work with somebody who could achieve something really special and we are really overjoyed that we had the privilege of working with Gareth Coker on this trailer.
So enjoy the video and let us know your thoughts and if you like it please take the time and vote for The Spire in the IOTY 2010.
Videos & Audio - The Spire Game - Indie DB
This video is exclusively available on Indie DB and the IOTY affiliate sites until 9th December so we politely ask not to re-host the video elsewhere until after that time, when we will make a download available.
Awesome!
Wow! Great trailer!
Also nice to hear more from Gareth Coker, he also did an awesome job on the music for X32I!
Oh.. my.. god O_O I WANT THIS!
Very impressive. Definitely getting my vote for IOTY. Well done.
one of those trailers that have almost no gameplay presentation. for exaple i see a new game on steam, i watch the trailer cause im curious about the gameplay, but mostly i wont get any. im not gonna read 50 lines under it, if im not really interested. im not trolling, just saying u should...
I agree with your comment but you will get much more gameplay footage closer to the game release date. This is our first ever teaser trailer to spread the word about the game. :)
I think that the trailer is good, there´s some gameplay and environment footage. Keep up the good work!
The quality of the work shown in the trailer seems to be very high. Looking forward to see more from you guys! ^^
Nice trailer, is this game by any means related to Twin Sector? It sure looks like it judging from the gameplay.
very nice
Very pro.
It looks cool, I just hope there is more to the game than a gravity gun.
Agreed x2. ;)
Top stuff, the very best I've seen done in UDK so far!
WOW! This game looks like a graphically and gameplay-wise better version of Twin Sector! This game also looks like it was also inspired by Portal (which is a good thing!). Can't wait to see a demo - even if it's in an alpha stage!
PROwork
wow, it's amazing what the udk can really do, this looks amazing!
looks really cool but, isn't their a game like this?
Truly beautiful looking environments, exciting and challenging looking game play, I cant wait to play.
I have seen a lot of people post that they cant believe this is an indi game and I totally agree with them, it looks just too good. :)
Consider it purchased...
that was awesome. i cant wait who made the musci
Gareth Coker is the musical genius behind the project, check out his other work on the fantastic looking indie title x32i or there is a link on the news article for his home page. Thanks again for your support.
Never heard of him :)
I may start the official G. Coker appreciation society... So that no Coker's are ever abused again ;oP
Looks pretty awesome!
