Welcome to the latest incarnation of a legend, Mod Database version 3!
This latest version provides numerous enhancements over version 2 in every single way. Here are some of the big time changes:
- New Design
- Tabbed Environment
- Mod of the Year Awards
- Many more small improvements
A new professional design crafted by our resident graphics monkeys and site creator INtense! has come with version 3. It is completely original and of course open to criticism and comments!
Pages are now formed out of various tabs that each give a detailed description of the information they are to provide. This provides an easy way to get to the information you want and need in very little time from anywhere!
With the launch of v3 comes this years Mod of the Year awards! We've tweaked it around a bit from last year, so it should be easier to vote, and provide a great competition for all those talented modders out there!
Just look through out the whole site and you'll see many different new little things!
Some extra things that couldn't make todays deadline will be emerging in the next week or so, and I can assure you, they will be worth the wait! Oh, and the one thing that everyone seemed to have really missed back in v2 was the ability to stop watching mods. Well it's back! You can access this by looking on your mod watch page.
If you happen to notice any bugs or problems with the site please put them in this forum thread post haste so we can get rid of them and make the website a better place.
So how do u take out mods from mod watching?
awesome 100th comment
layouts great, mod profiles espically have benefitted from the rearanging
Shame about the colour scheme though, I cant really use the site for more than about five minutes before my eyes begin to hurt :(
To take out mods, when you get a Mod Watch update, go there, and on the right side will be a list of mods you're watching. Just click how many different check boxes you want, and at the bottom, click "Stop Watching." There ya go.
looks evil. love it :D
great job guys!
Oops, I meant to say, just click Messages, go to Mods, and it's there on the right side.
Moddb.com
It looks like the banners should be updated to follow the new site design, right?
Cheers
Arghhhh, were is my loved V1?! o_O
The new User/Mod Profle Layouts are terrible
i like the new colors n ****, but the old layout was much nicer.
See this thread - Moddb.com
If someone answers the challenge, then I shall add another color theme :D
I had a problem trying to read my messages... a huge ? mark would appear if my cursor went over it... i was like "WHAT THE HELL??"
anyways.. its looks pretty good... a little too "Hey lets make this look like a white stripes site!" ... but then again, I have seen many many other web sites and forums with the red, black, white, gray theme.
Looks nice though :)
Looks really good! :)
good work all - seems to work fine on the mac with camino :)
Alright let's start a revolution now...
Is it me, or sometimes (1/2 times) when loading a ModDB page well it displays all black on white, being actually a HUUUGE mess everywhere, instead of what I see in the other 1/2 times; black, red, and white. I'm using Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 98... I guess it's the server or something, or my suckiest wireless connection :P (it gives up very often)
The new organization style reminds me JUST A LITTLE BIT of Valve ERC-Collective :)
Just let me find that skin chooser... XD
Honestly, the new site is hideous. I personally think that this layout change was for the worst.
Nice job
I came. Twice. The new site rocks.
color scheme hurts my eyes. reminds me of an old-school windows 3.1 high contrast desktop
I suggest that you include a new browser icon to go with V3. Its still in the old V2 style.
heh
Yay,. first post!
XD!
Joy
WOOF WOOF BITCHES
umm... firefox ain't liking it for me
It's time..!!!
Design looks **** in Firefox :|
This is a pretty bold step to screw over those using Firefox. I wouldn't revert back to IE just for this site.
w00t
woot!!
******* sweet well done
I LOVE IT.
Works fine on fire fox 1.5 for me
Its all buggered up in firefox, but looks proper in IE... :(
the colors is aceptible but i hope we can get a grey template soon
other then that it looks great! good job :)
Love it!
Keep the ownage coming.
And you can't view any Tutorials either.
Not that I haven't seen it already for quite a while now, but the site simply looks fantastic in its newest form. You guys really outdid yourselves with this.
Weird, I'm using FireFox 1.5 and it looks perfect for me.
I'm using FireFox 1.5, and it looks fine to me.
If you have any bugs or problems, just throw them in this forum thread Moddb.com
Well now that the moddb is officaly ****** over in ff, modhq for me - Modhq.notepadhax.com
---
For those of you that use ff, add the bug button to your tool bar, and spam it
it looked, not good in firefox - refesh - now it's ok. :)
... looks very nice! well done.
if anyone is experiencing firefox issues can they please send a screenshot to scott@moddb.com along with their firefox version. I am surprised the site does not work, because i tested it in all browsers
go download firefox 1.5 if it's not showing up right for you--- it looks fine on firefox as long as you have the latest version
I'm hoping if I browse around the site enough it might rub off on me, and I might start liking it. Unfortunately it ain't working yet. Buttons just seem to flash all over the place. The "Getting Around" bar has already been in a couple of unique and interesting locations. The articles I've seen so far don't seem to link to the mod they're talking about. Tabbed browsing just seems to hde information you want immediately. It (currently) seems more painful than a spiked rectal thermometer.
Mind you, I suppose I just haven't adjusted yet. I guess I'll get used to it. I didn't like the newer design of "SourceForge" either. Now I've been using it for a while, though, I thoroughly detest it. But this site might be different. :P
I love the redesign. As I was exploring, I got to thinking...
It'd be real cool if you guys threw in a "My Mods" thing where we could see a list of all our favorite mods in one place so we don't have to go hunt them down each time. ;)
Clic the watch this mods, and then go to your profile.
Okay, this really does look good, but.. it isn't as easy to use as the old one.
But when I use it a few days, I hope it will be as easy then.
Yeah I just found that and I went back to edit my post but now you've already exposed my ignorance. :P
Well, I guess that says something about the redesign. If clueless people like me still can't find stuff, then you guys still have some work to do. ;P
Works fine in Firefox for me, just had to refresh.
