I have made a new navmesh for the 32 player map Taraba Quarry to allow play with AI bots.
There is a PDF in the download with instructions for installation.
Note that this is not an exact copy of the original 32 player map.
There have been some changes to the static objects and flags:
Some of the flags have a bigger capture radius to make it easier for vehicles to capture them. A few
of the flags have been moved onto roofs to stop the vehicles getting stuck on them.
The navmesh area is a lot bigger than the original combat area of the map and has been tested/edited in most places. It should work fine if you want to create a bigger combat area. If not send me a message/screen shot of the problem area and I can fix it.
If you change the flag layout and start to experience random crashes try redoing your Strategic
Areas. Specifically make sure the ‘order positions’ for both infantry and vehicles are in places
where the navmesh exists and the soldiers and vehicles can reach them. Order positions that the AI
cannot reach will crash the level.
Also included are the 3D object files (*.obj) used making the Navmesh. If you know how and wish
to edit them further they are in the folder location:
taraba_quarry\server.zip\GTSData\output
I used python 2.3.4 to create the Navmesh with BF2Editor.
I used Blender 3.3 to edit the Navmesh obj files.
Nice, I'll have to check this out when I have a mo. :-)
No extra bridge across sorry. The version in my mod has flags at the buildings in the north west and north east corners of the map. I also put in transport helicopters as well. It does help to mitigate the bottleneck across the damn a bit.
In other news i just finished the Youtube video for the navmesh tutorial. Will upload tomorrow!
Thank you for your great work! Taraba Quarry is one of my favourite maps and someone finally took care of that stalemate - bottleneck scenario now, which was always annoying! Great job, mate!10/10
Thanks for the feedback. Another easy fix to the bottleneck is to add a transport helicopter to each side.
Sorry, didn´t notice your answer, I think we need to put the member name of the guy we are talking to right in the beginning of our answers, so he will get an update message that someone mentioned him.
Thank you for the hint, that´s a good idea :)
