A more comprehensive file for the 58BC mod, details below. 58BC is a mod for RTW-BI set in the last days of the Roman Republic. It covers the most important victories and campaign of Julius Caesar from the battles against the Helvetii to the final victory at Munda. This is a one-faction only mod. Caesar must survive every battle or the game will end.
NOTE: This upload is not officially endorsed by the 58BC team. The credit for their amazing work is all theirs, and you can find a full list of the people who worked on it in the description of the 58 BC CI v1.2 file which is the same but without the changes listed below.
INSTRUCTIONS: Unzip this file to your Rome Total War folder. In Steam, this will probably be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rome Total War Gold. After unzipping, when you click on the Rome Total War folder, you should see a folder called 58BC. It is compatible with other mods. Use -mod:58bc -show_err -nm in Steam. Also make sure to click on a city, click on the advisor portrait, and click "Show me how" in order to enable the campaign script.
CONTENTS: This is a zip file that contains everything you would find in 58 BC CI v1.2, but it comes with the RS2 Environments Patch and the 58BC Historical Battles Addon already installed. The historical battles from RTR Platinum that do not work for this mod have been removed.
In addition, this mod version gives the Caesariani a red faction color and emblems, as having watched a lot of Kings and Generals I was not used to seeing them in a blue color which they have in the original 58BC mod. Instead of a black Scipii wolf, the Caesariani now have a golden Lupa as their symbol. The SPQR are now dark red on the map.
The original sandstone-like backgrounds, which I found to be a little straining on the eyes, are replaced with the Caesar in Gaul picture from Rome II which I feel better represents this mod.
The Temple of Bacchus chain has been changed so that it is now a Temple of Venus chain. This is better in my opinion as Caesar claimed descent from Venus.
Whereas Caesar has a bodyguard of Ubii Germanic horsemen in the original mod, that seemed a little strange to me, so I replaced his bodyguard with Roman Cohors Praetoria in both the campaign and historical battles.
Other than that, this mod runs and functions the same as the base mod, and in the 58 BC CI v1.2 upload you can find more information about the base mod. Below are some images of the updated game.
