A remaster of Dawn of War Soulstorm aimed for a new exciting gameplay experience accompanied by reworked visuals, sounds, maps and more.
Version 1.33
After a year of development, the long anticipated v1.33 is here! This particular build to the Redux mod includes the entire Tartarus single player campaign reworked to fit with Redux'es mechanics, along with new character speech portraits and cutscene music. This version also includes five new squads: Devastators, Havocs, Retributors, Skorpekh Destroyers and the Riptide Battlesuit, four new maps: Marinus, Forsaken Canals, Refinery, and Afterflood, reworked portrait icons for Chaos Space Marines, a completed reskin of the Ork UI, a massive amount of new visual fx, and more! You can also read the extensive gameplay changes for version 1.33 in the changelog found here.
For those going into the single player, it's advised to open Redux with the DoW Mod Manager and have -dev checked on. This will log any potential coding errors that may arise when playing the campaign as these can break the missions. The campaign has been tested thoroughly to make sure most of these errors are squashed, but sometimes there's a chance some unforeseen errors can occur with players. If you do find yourself getting a scar error code, join the Redux discord server and report what lead to the error. A logfile will directly say where in the script the error occurred, which players can find in the Logfiles folder in their Dawn of War directory. Be sure to share this log file as it'll make errors easier to fix.
TO INSTALL
Simply download the .7z file and open with a safe program like 7-zip. Find your Dawn of War Soulstorm directory (for Steam users, this is under Steam/steamapps/common/Dawn of War Soulstorm) and extract the contents of the zip file into that folder. If you have Redux already installed, delete your existing Redux folder before installing the current version. It's recommended to use the Mod Manager to open the mod instead of directly through the game.
excellent mod
Amazing mod
At last, the new update, thank you my brother of Iron!!!
Greatly appreciated!
Sweet!
Devastators go pewpewpew
Thank you very much for essentially making Necrons a useless race that can't stand up to ANYTHING!
Deathmarks, as snipers, are completely useless.
Turned regular Necron warriors into trash.
Destroyers as technics are also useless.
But, we'll increase the resource cost for purchasing units, extend the build times, and make us entirely dependent on energy, which us already struggle to acquire to reach Tier 2. Bravo.
lol
but... necrons already depended entirely on power
Hello ! Thank for your work. I have a one question. U are planing deal a grand campaning?
Hello boyzzes! It is nice mod. But... Could you correct the Power fists damage and Storm cannon damage for the Terminanotors SM? Their damage is negligible.Terminators are useless. ((
Thanks in advanced.
Hello,
Are there also graphic improvements in this version? I thought the models should be updated or is that still in the works?
Model updates are still a new development. 1.35 is intending on getting the first real model overhaul regarding Ogryn and the new addition of Bullgryn. Afterwards, I'll be trying to streamline new model changes going forward.
Привет можно с тобой связаться, увлекаюсь моделированием, может смог бы помочь тебе?
Can you merge other race mods with this mod? Or map mods, vanilla maps are too few...
I think the best solution would be to quality finish vanilla ones! )
I never found a fully finalized mod. ((
Maybe this one will be good.
Hello,
Please bring back melee blades for space marines. It looks ridiculous when they do the "fatality" shooting from the finger. ))
Yeah, the codex models had a lot of unforeseen issues. They're only being used for the convenience of new weapon upgrades. I'll try looking into at least fixing the synckill missing weapon problem.
есть ли на него русификатор?приятнее мне на русском играть
I had someone interested in translating the mod to Russian but haven't heard from them since - so sadly the mod will only come in English and Spanish upon the release of version 1.35.
Выражаю большую благодарность разработчикам мода! Замечательная работа, жду следующих патчей!
DOW: REMASTERED!!!
Congratulations, mate. This mod is an EXCELLENT case in point for the perennial truth: quality will ALWAYS beat quantity.
Who needs 20 factions and 9000 character cameos if it's mostly kitbashed junk or content ripped and used without consent/credits? Not me! I'm playing this mod all the time now. I Need nothing else.
I can't begin to imagine what Redux will look like when you get to remastering the game's models as well. Best of luck to you, sir; for thou art an artiste!
hello, and in the mod settings I can somehow change the language, if so, can you tell me how to do it?
muy bueno el mod
hola podran ponerlo los sub titulos y la historia que cuenta en español
You're in luck.
We have a Spanish translation already made for 1.35 and is continuing to stay updated.
When is the release of version 1.35, my boys and I are waiting so much!
Everything's hinging on the Ogryn/Bullgryn model. Textures are almost done.
Great mod! Is there anyway to extract the skirmish maps and add then to another mod? love the refreshed maps.
Yes, but there's several folders and files you'll have to consider bringing into another mod or the base game. For the source of skirmish maps, use: data/scenarios/mp
For the ambient sound emitters and ambience used in the maps:
data/sound/music/(any files named ambience_)
data/attrib/ebps/environment/ambient_snd
data/art/ebps/environment/ambient_snd
data/sound/single_player/ambient
Some custom maps use custom decals/textures and the animated lava:
data/art/decals
data/art/scenarios/textures
If you're using these maps:
4p_afterflood
8p_thurabis_plateau
4p_biffys_peril
6p_kasyr_lutien
8p_monastery
6p_st_huldrych_causeway
You'll need the skybox files:
data/art/ebps/environment/skies
Faantastic! Will try that out thank you so much!
Edit: It works, but there are two issues:
1. The Map names and descriptions dont work ($5566798689)
2. Theres a constant beeping sound when ingame? like, beep. beep. beep beep. It just triggers randomly
Right. You'll also need the locale file maps.ucs
And the beeps are likely due to missing sound files from the listed ambient directories above. If you did copy them over but ONLY the sound files, then you'll need to also copy every single _default.rat prior to the sound folders, (e.g. sound, music, single_player, etc).
