This is the original Isabelle AI companion mod, but with the death animations from the IsabelleGORE mod, but without replacing the high five with abusing her or adding in the odd daisy death animation.
Included are two files, "ISABELLE_Vulnerable.pk3" which is the main one.
Alternatively, there is "ISABELLE_Vulnerable_NoMonAnims.pk3" which adds only the first two death animations, without any of the monster related ones. Use this if you dislike the monster-based deaths, or if for example seeing vanilla monsters doesn't suit your current setup.
Tested on GZDOOM, doesn't work on Zandronum.

This is an edited version of a mod by another user, which is itself a modification of another mod.
Someone originally made a mod where Isabelle can follow you around and be an AI companion, she helps you by giving you armor and ammo. I enjoyed this mod very much, however, she is ignored by enemies and invincible, which was still okay, but lacked something, I wanted her to be able to die, to fight alongside you, and need aid and protection herself.
I looked to see and to my surprise someone made a mod where she was vulnerable and added a few gory death animations, which looked pretty good. I thought this is what I wanted, but there were also other changes I strongly disliked. Instead when she asks for a High Five, you punch her and she cries, and one of the death animations is daisy killing her, which I found odd. The english voice was ok, but I find the animal crossing babbling charming.
So with no coding experience I dug around to see if I could make her original mod vulnerable, or anything really.
I'm happy to say I have the original mod but with the dying and death animations added (minus the daisy one). Additionally she now cries out in pain when hurt so you can tell when she is being damaged.
yeah...this isn't for me. I don't have the guts to harm any character this cute and wholesome.
Me either, but I enjoy protecting her from the demons!
Even though this puts Isabelle at risk, it does give the players much needed incentive to fight alongside her and actually keep her alive instead of just using her as an invulnerable bullet sponge to clear difficult rooms.
