A.k.a. Eternal Warfare, is meant to remaster the original Red Alert 2 with more reality and historical meme.

Units & Tech Tree
Many units are under the same name as the Red Alert 2, but they change how they look like, also they have expanded features that makes it more fun.
Tech tree has been rearranged and been kept simple enough, in case you might not know what to build. Personally I think a complex tech tree is somehow suffocating.
Gameplay
There are several new mechanic introduced:
- New armour countering system: Infantries with rifles and machine guns can hardly deal damage to heavy armoured vehicles, but their rate of fire is high, while tank gun is deadly to any light armoured infantries, but they takes time to reload.
- New economy system: Higher tier units has either special utility or more powerful stats, but they cost more credits, which means that even you have higher tier units available, lower tier units are still useful due to its cost.
- Factions instead of countries: Countries with little minor change doesn't affect gameplay much, therefore there will be no countries but just factions. Different factions have very different gameplay style, as Allied is tend to repulse and push back in the late game, the Soviet is tend to rampage all the way through.
- Random Number Generator: Random number generator is a fun mechanics in the game, for example, you might lose an equivalent tank fight just because of too much bouncing shots.
There are also lots of fixed original mechanics, such as the I.F.V.
New AI
With such new systems, there must be a new AI system that fits the gameplay. The AI isn't that hard to defeat, but it is smarter than the original one.
- Easy: for those who haven't got use to the new gameplay and units.
- Medium: for those who has already know the mechanics and gameplay.
- Brutal: for those who wants challenge, and improve skill.
New Story
The story line of the campaign will take place in 1950s to 1960s, a parallel world which is close to the reality, but the Cold War has developed into a global warfare. Therefore, the vanilla campaign will be all replaced.
Current Progress
- Units: All basic units have been finished, hidden units/civilian units/mission units are still working in progress.
- Skirmish Maps: the first skirmish map "Verdant Hills (2)" has already finished, the second skirmish map "Leavenworth (2-4)" is under graphic optimisation.
- Campaign: the first mission for Allied is under graphic optimisation.
- Audios: sound effect and voice over is now in a lower priority, they will be released in future updates.
- UI: user interface is also in a lower priority, and they will be also released in future updates.
FAQs
Q: When will Bellum Æternum release?
A: When it's ready! polish the game needs a great amount of time, and as an one-man-army developer, there are so much to do. The alpha version will be released after the skirmish is totally available.
Q: Will there be more factions?
A: No, not now. Adding more factions needs a huge amount of work: tech tree/graphics/code/campaign/sound. They take time to be completed :)
Q: Will there be more units?
A: No, I would like to keep things simple. Current tech tree works fine, and there will be tons of hidden fun in the game, so make sure you discover them all in the future ;)
Q: What language will Bellum Æternum support?
A: Currently there are two languages, English and Chinese. If you are interested in expand the language pack to your language, I'm glad to collaborate.
