This is v1.0 of the mod. I am currently working on a v1.1 of the mod to address the emptiness of the orc wastelands which is the last map of the game. More buildings and decor will be added to wastelands to make it more convincing that this is the orcs' homeland.
Some videos and more pictures (including in game) will be posted.
If you are a modder and want to use parts of my mod. Contact me on here or larian forums. My name will be the same on the forums.
This is something I've always wanted to do, or something similar, an endgame mod that doesn't change the rest of the canon.
Probably out of scope for your mod, but at one point (before mod tools existed, or at least before I knew about them,) I had planned a series of quests for the endgame world and a rework of the final dungeon to give the Black Ring more distinct feels as you progress through the dungeon.
That is precisely what I want to end up doing once I can figure out scripting, and to get the modified scripts to compile without causing a hang in DD. The tools author Ranaar is helping me, but is in the process of recoding his tools (first is map editor so new objects not on the map and npcs can be inserted).
Scripting will be the absolute last part of this mod (unless someone good at scripting wants to help) because it's more technical and will take longer. So I decided to work on the maps and data since that is the foundation of the mod.
If I have things my way, there would be story telling orc NPCs, merchants, a teleporter stone linking back to the other lands (allows finishing previous side quests), quests, cellars/caves and to use a majority of the wasteland map instead of like half of it.
Stay tuned, I'll post more pics and some gameplay footage. Go check out Raanars "divine divinity map editor" thread on larian forums for links to ALL of his tools.
Is there a way in the tools we have to tamper with the animations or whatnot? that's one area I think could be really easily improved, particularly in regards to scenery or death animations.
Not yet. I would be interested in that as well even though I'm not an animator. But that would end up opening the door to adding new voiced dialog eventually.
Edit: stay tuned for v1.2, big update. Will be out soon.
