Spirit Quest, a Retro Style Adventure RPG, Releases Quality of Life Update
Updated graphics, a brand new tutorial, and many bug fixes.
Avalon Studios has been hard at work on their nostalgia-driven RPG adventure game, Spirit Quest. Update 0.4.38 is now available for testing, which includes a graphical overhaul and design for the Tomb dungeon, as well as a tutorial explaining mechanics within the game.
Some of the key features in this update:
- Updated graphics and design for the Tomb dungeon, as well as pit graphics and NPC sprites. Placeholder graphics for the Frost Heart’s Ice Barrier have also been improved.
- Added a tutorial explaining how to run shortly after gaining Spirit Energy
- Improved behaviors and visuals for the Golem boss
- Added new map icons for locked doors, key blocks, and passages
- … and many bug fixes, including character disappearance on the elevator, and improved hitting objects diagonally with the Chakram weapon!

Spirit Quest is a SNES Zelda inspired adventure game driven by nostalgia. You follow the main character on their adventure into the world. There are puzzles to solve, items to discover, and bosses to battle! If you’re interested in retro style games, then this is the game for you.
