Not more based than Jack though of course.
Aww, thank you! I definitely am hard on myself, so I'll gladly enjoy the compliment!
Thanks! Trying to keep a good pace going, but I'm also doing assets for the HL2 Remix team on the side, so sometimes it's a bit hard to balance!
Or undead, right?
I have some more props to finish, then after that I'm doing all the textures! So hopefully in the near future I can put out the apartment replacements at least. Technically you could run through the rest of the game but it would so broken until I get to it!
Thank you so much! When I first saw the RTX Remix reveal a couple years back, my mind INSTANTLY went to VTM:B!
I'm not sure the Formatter is actually running. When I load into the map, my model only shows up as a 3d model of green text saying "Wrong Version" with a debug log showing the model path that's supposed to be there.
Is there a method for manually running the Formatter after compiling?
I've heard someone say the Formatter has string length limitations and sometimes won't run if those are hit so they had to move it somewhere else.
Have you run into any of this IlexManor?
Thankyou! I can tell you'll be someone who is inspecting everything, so I can't let you down!
Seconded, I believe it works on pre 2000 series cards, but I imagine the frame rate would be pretty difficult to live with. 3000 series and up seems to have the best luck with rendering these remix projects.
Though I am trying to keep this on the low end, so... reasonable tri counts on objects, not going in deep with 8k textures etc. Trying to make it a somewhat performant remaster while hitting an upgraded art style!
That's a great question, the best I can figure, when you Remix a game, it creates hashes for all the assets it can pull, and that's what you end up replacing using the Remix toolkit. Meaning if you add another mod in afterward, and it brings in NEW content, the only upgrades it will get are that it will be in a raytraced lighting environment. If it's a mod that replaces content, it's possible it will get overridden by the Remix mod since it might have the same hash number.
Which is why I want to test how this interacts with UP+ Patch vs. no UP+ Patch!
Short answer is... I have theories, but I'm not quite sure just yet!
My first goal is to have that entire haven map replaced completely and put that out as a sort of proof of concept demo here, so hopefully in the near future I can put that out!
Thankyou! I'll do my best!
Thanks! Trying to keep my momentum and continue to replace assets!
