Titan, Saturn’s largest moon, had long since been terraformed. TTT, or Tidus Titan Triumvirate, a multinational and now multi-planetary conglomerate, of which the Union Aerospace Corporation became a part, began an overarching project to move the human populous to as many of the solar system’s outer planets and moons as could be achieved. Titan was to be chief among these new seats for the human race.

But old tales get retold. Or so it seems.

Contact with the base on Titan, Dragon Sector - Phase Two, or “the Remake”, as it was coined by insiders, was lost.

You are one member of a combat team, sent with investigators, to find out what happened. Upon final approach to the Executive Complex landing pad, your ship experiences a sudden malaise and crashes. You are the lone survivor, the only one who managed to bail out to safety.

But there? That is where your adventure only starts.

Play Notes:

Skill levels: yes
Multiplayer: 5 Player CoOp (WIP)
Dynamic lights required to be on
Turning Brightmaps on highly recommendedRequired (We've done a lot of work in this regard)

Required Port: GZDoom (ver 4.11 or later)
Recommended Mod: Project Brutality (PB_Staging)
Tested with only GZDoom-based scource ports.
ZDL, or any frontend is recommended to make launching the mod easier.

Very Important:

It is highly recommended that you turn on the setting for precaching textures. We've used some very large textures where they mattered, and this can cause lag, as GZDoom, by default, loads them into memory during actual play. Precaching preloads all of the textures before play of a level begins, preventing this lag from happening. It makes for a slightly longer loading time before each map, but trust us, it will be well worth it.

In game, open the console and enter gl_precache 1. (This is already done for you in the full version download, if you use the CMD file for launching it.)

Also, it is highly recommended that you use the Vulkan renderer. It provides for a much smoother and better high fidelity experience.

Recommended System:

  • Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz 2.81 GHz or better
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or better
  • At least 4GB of video memory is recommended for 1080p resolution.

Special Note: found in many of the (upcoming) maps, and in map01, are Security Drones and Security Bots. Equipped with quite potent plasma guns, they will prove to be significant assets when fighting baddies!

There are also two different types of stationary turrets, rocket and plasma bolt. Whenever found, find how to turn them on as much as possible! They can be very helpful!

Authors' Notes:

We designed the maps specifically to run with Project Brutality. If ran with any other mods, the experience won't be what was intended. They will run with any other GZDoom-based mod, however. I tested them in GZDoom (without mods), Brutal Doom and with Russian Overkill. The maps ran in all without issue.

The reason I designed Dragon Sector - The Remake for Project Brutality, was, heh, let's be serious--Project Brutality rocks! I just so wanted to show it some love!

Turn up your music and get ready! We're hopeful that these maps will blow everyone away!

Hello once again, fellow Doomers!

While the path to version 0.65 was a long one, progress to v0.66 has been steady. Things have come together pretty well since we released the last update, and we’re pleased to bring you v0.66a9, denoting this version’s main addition.

Nuclear Plant 1

Map 09 - Sewage Processing

If you’re wondering what happened to 7 and 8, don’t worry. Map 7 is still in the works, however this Secret Level was born because the concept of a flooded level has always stoked something in us. There is just something innately frightening about an underwater environment.

The concept here, then, is a level that begins underwater. The Sewage Processing facility has flooded, and you’ll need to navigate the murky waters in order to get through. However, if you have been paying attention to our maps, particularly Map 2 and 4, you might have noticed there is a secret feature included. The large flooded areas can be drained.

This is also true of Map 9, and when you do so, that is where the bulk of your combat will happen. It is a gloomy and frightening trip, taking inspiration from Doom II’s Waste Tunnels.

Being a secret level, you can expect a good degree of challenge. This level will test you, and it’s going to make you feel uneasy the entire way through. But, there is light at the end of the sludgy tunnel. In this map, you will find the Armor Enhancer, a new Powerup that will make your armor 100% effective.

This does mean that it will drain faster, but it will also keep you alive. So, there is a good reason to go through the muck to obtain it.

Once you exit the map, you will be taken back to Map 4, the Fuel Refinery.

Below, you’ll find a list of other changes included in this update.

Fuel Refinery 1

New Additions

  • Map 09 - Sewage Processing!
    • This new Secret map can be accessed from Map 3.
  • New Monsters added.
    • Cacomancer - This support variant of the Cacodemon will buff and resurrect its comrades.
    • Hellduke - This Cyberdemon variant will pose a significant threat with its strong missile and grenade attacks.
    • Drog - this monster tries to run from you, whilst dropping mines behind it.
    • Gross Elemental - This abhorrent thing pukes green acid vomit and spawns hoards of maggots!

Fixes

  • In map04, replaced the “Behemoth” monsters back with regular Mancubi. The Behemoths were a bit much for that hallway they were in.

Improvements

  • New PowerUp: Armor Enhancer
    • This PowerUp makes Armor 100% efficient.
  • If you have the MegaPower Armor and the Damage Absorb Powerup, there is a 10% chance projectiles will be reflected back at their shooters.
  • Gave the Security Bot a small bit of a facelift. He’s sporting new graphics now.
  • Added some ammo pickups to some of the maps, in particular, map01.

Map Changes

  • Map 01 - Executive Complex
    • Added a “Block Monster” line in the morgue, to better help direct the Zombie Fodder monsters toward the player.
  • Map 02 - Resources Reclamation
    • Fixed a bug that was allowing Polyobjects to protrude through some walls.
  • Map 03 - Skyway
    • Completed the secret exit to map09, Sewage Processing.
  • Map 04 - Fuel Refinery
    • Changed out Behemoth for Mancubi. See above.
    • New monster added - the Cacomancer.

Executive Complex 1

Thank you all for the continued support! It’s great to know people enjoy our work and are along for the ride as we continue to evolve and get better.

That’s it for now. Lock and load!

PS: GZDoom Released version 4.12.1 today. We haven't had a chance to test this yet, so the full pack still includes 4.11. Just a weird case of things happening at the same time.

Good Day, With the new update I love the new enemy you put in, but you dont you
leave the old ones from the previous updates in and add on that new ones, as i see you keep changing enemies in the game. I see that map 3 and 4 (so far) still has the problem of over amount of monsters but can not even get half of them.map 3 was over 1000 and you only get over 300, map 4 say 5623 enemies but can only get within the whole map 526 with all secrets and items. I see so far you did not put in new type of weapons (with the old ones please). Please keep up the good work you guys are awsome.

That is an error that keeps cropping up with Project Brutality and GZDoom again and again with our maps. We're stumped as to why, as is Project Brutality and GZDoom.

I've played through the maps, all of them, at least a hundred times each, and randomly at the end of some of the maps, I'll get that only killed like, 23% of the monsters, when I know I got all of them. I should know. I placed all of them!

So yeah, we don't know why it's happening or how to fix it. Hopefully some of these days, either the guys developing Project Brutality or GZDoom will stumble upon the problem, and fix it when they do. Until then, we're just kind of stuck with it.

Thanks for the reply, please have a look at map09 ( the underwater base ), on my level there is no monsters, one secret, and no exit to the next level, i do get the blue key and to get the water drained half way o8ut the base but no exit and no monsters, so i can not continue to the next level.

That's normal right now. You have to clip through to get to the exit that leads to Map9. It's just a preview and work in progress, so it's not finished. We thought it would just be a nice easter egg to have in there for now. It's coming along nicely on this end, but we're not sure when it'll be done.

Hehe, there is a big sign you have to clip through to get to map09. It says the map is far from complete and there is no exit in it yet. We left the map in, so players who were curious, could go in and have a look at it. But then would need to go back to the last save in map03, to return to normal play.

However, map09 is done now! At least, I have it completed. All that's left now is playtesting and tweaking. It will be available for play in our next update!

I'm not sure what's going on there, as there are nowhere near the number of monsters you are seeing. 1000 monsters, 5000 monsters, that is not at all correct.

As far as weapons go, that's where we are leveraging Project Brutality. They do such a good job with those and they feel great, we didn't see a need to make any of our own.

lol thanks man but i get that amount from within the game on the top left corner of the screen where it state the amount of monster on the level and the amount one have taken out plus the other info. and also when i exit the level it says not 100% kills but only 23% or less. also i do not download yet the pk3 file i download the whole game files, to make sure i dont miss anything inbetween the lines. i do add the main doom files from my original doom games as your game download to not provide those files.

Yeah, we can't include the commercial wad file. Folks have to get that, themselves, by purchasing Doom2. For us to include Doom2 in our releases would be a copyright violation and would get us into trouble!

Like BarefootMapMaker said, we don't know why this happens. Trying to figure it out, but so far we haven't been able to determine why. The problem for us is that it doesn't happen all the time, so it's hard to get an idea of what situations make this issue show itself.
