Hello, and welcome to Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence, a Total Conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2.
What we aim to achieve with this mod is to immerse the player into the historic wars involving Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, which are the 6-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. The player will be able to play as a common soldier, crewmember, or pilot in these wars. The mod will feature historically accurate equipment such as the famous Russian AK-47, the fearsome SO-4050 bomber, the menacing IS3 and M48 tanks, and much, much more. Also, the maps will recreate actual battles that happened in these wars, to complete a historically accurate and immersive modification. IDF:FFI is also a member of the acclaimed cooperative gaming studio Black Sand Studios.
As we all know, that period in the region was one of the most politically sensitive times ever. Many innocent people had lost their lives at that time. Some may look at our modification name and think that we are biased towards the Israeli side. That is not true, at all. As a team, we do not intend to talk politics or choose sides, but portray, in video game form, the battles that happened.
To reach these goals we always looking for nice fans, who would like to apply as a developer or beta tester. Keep an eye on the forums to see the progress of the mod.

This mod is trash. CTD is so common that one rarely gets to the end of a round, underpowered weapons leading to going through one clip in close quarters to kill a guy, sprint doesn't work half the time leading to getting killed trying to get to cover, animations are unnecessary, clunky and makes switching weapons too time consuming leading to getting killed before switching to side arm or taking out a tank/APC. All in all, this is just a graphical wet dream that lacks proper functionality. you need to work on your modding skills rather than graphical rendering skills. Even the most garbage mods with poor graphics functions better than this mod. Mod Uninstalled. Do better!

I have a problem, I can't find the mod launcher, only the IDF Windowed, the resolution is bugged and I can't access the settings to fix it. Do you have any guesses?
Whoops sorry about that. You can try mod launchers. I have used a couple of different ones. Here is one that should work.

I would need help with that. That is beyond my abilities. The focus currently is the create maps and content that work in SP/COOP with bots.
are there plans to make it standalone ?
by the way, when i activated the mod i noticed alot of the content was missing except for the weapon ranges, and also when i tried to press play it shut down immediately
If we can figure out how to make it stand alone yes we will do that.
You have to also download and install the mappack.
sorry for responding late but thanks for the answer,
i mentioned before that sometimes when i play on maps it crashes, other times it doesn't, and as for weapon classes/kits i wonder if we can change them to alternate weapons or are they stuck specific to each time frame ('67-'73)
either way i really like your IDF mod! :D
even if the hardcoded BF2 AI makes it hard to play it's still fun!
