Intended for replays to keep the game engaging, GGC2: Maximum Carnage is a simple mod that increases the enemy spawn rate, but also improves the player arsenal slightly. If you've not played this game before you should be aware it's probably the best side-scrolling shooter ever made. Best played in couch co-op madness, though is still pretty cool in singleplayer or online too.
FEATURES:
PLAYER:
1. The camera is slightly more zoomed out (+14%) so you can see enemies at a greater distance.
2. Increased the range of the shotgun considerably.
3. The shotgun no longer has a laser line when aiming.
4. Increased bullet speed of most weapons (players only).
5. Increased mauser damage, bullet penetration capability and rate of fire slightly.
6. Increased magazine size of StG44 by 5.
7. Increased the damage of the MG42 slightly.
8. Increased most maximum ammo carry capacities by approximately 15%.
9. Increased magazine size of MP40 by 2.
10. Increased the firing speed of pistol and dual pistols slightly, as well as +2 magazine size.
11. Increased Kick damage by 20%.
12. +10% reload speed for all weapons.
ENEMY:
1. More enemies, including random spawns. An approximate increase of +30%. Boss fights unaffected.
2. +10% animation speed.
3. Enemies drop ammo pickups less often since there's more of them.
Note: enemy changes have only been tested in one and two player modes. I imagine four player mode would be insanely hectic bullet hell.
It also wont be compatible with online play, unless perhaps if all users have the mod installed.
REMINDER: there is an issue with the base game where no matter what difficulty you pick on new game or continue from the main menu, it will always set you to normal. You have to have spawned in and then change the difficulty from the pause menu.
