Hi Sobhan,

Yes, you can use AXR toolset to pack loose files into xdb's (and unpack db's as well). I have not tried packing files though, so it may take a little trial and error how to get it working. It also has many other useful functions for STALKER games.

In X\gamedata\scripts is the file then.

Hi, thank you!

Yes, It is the same as the one from DCE (news_data.script), but translated into English by me. You could replace it with the RU version and it would not cause issues if someone wanted to do that as well.

A very interesting question! I have never seen someone ask about working trains, or drivable vehicle like the KLV 12 as you mention in LA! I never even thought of it before to be honest. It may actually be possible, but beyond anything I would know how to do!

Not that I have witnessed in the past years I have played with it. Worst that happened to me on one play through is that a chimera killed the guide in Yantar.

Yes, all changed to same #.

Knife pack, I thought needed PRM installed, so no if so. If it doesn't, I am pretty sure it still wont work though.

The three instances of the single number one, can be changed to whatever you want.

This line: local points = p[1] or 1
and: pdaSkills.add_points_amount(1)

The first time you get skill points then should be whatever you changed it to. If it still shows a 1 there, then there is another place, or something else that would need changed.

Ya, unpack, then find the xr_effects script from the unpacked files, make a copy of it. You will always move or edit the copy, thus keeping the original file in its place. So if you ever need to go back to the original file, it is easy to find.

If using vanilla DC, then you would need to create a gamedata folder and then inside that a scripts folder. Then place the file into the scripts folder and edit away. Dont forget to rename to "xr_effects.script" as it will have the word copy in it.

If using LAR, then place it in the gamedata/scripts folder already there.

Double check that "fsgame.ltx" in the root dir. is set to game_data, true | true on that line. If one of them is set to false, change to true. This is what allows the gamedata folder to override the packed db files.

** Just as a side note, reminder that I mentioned in theory I think this should work. If it does not, then there is probably some other files that would need edited.

I am not sure what settings they are talking about. But it seems like they are bypassing the launcher, in which I have instructions how to do so in the LAR patch notes. I would think it does the same thing.

His addon is to make PRM weapons pack work with the previous version of LAR (which is my comp), that's it.

EDIT: I forgot he included my comp in it, so ya it wont have the Duty quest fork changes for sure. I think the artifact changes and news network are not in there either, but could be wrong.

The differences are stated in the description of LAR/patch notes.

TLDR version though... It adds the revised/fixed Duty quest and a few other things.

Hi,

So I presume you are crashing near a controller then? That is the only "fix" I know of. I have actually never had a controller crash, so I am not sure as to other reasons.

Only other thing I can think of in game wise, is to pick off the controller from far away if possible. Or try to go way around them, until something else kills it by chance.

I do not think there is, however have you checked out any of the r2_sun settings? The below are from the "brighter lost alpha" addon description. I use similar settings to make things brighter.

r2_sun_lumscale 1.2
r2_sun_lumscale_amb 1.4
r2_sun_lumscale_hemi 1.2
r2_tonemap_lowlum 0.8

Where are you stuck? Have you checked the regular LA wiki for help if not crash related?

You're welcome, hopefully you have a smooth play through. Just a reminder there are some other tips/workarounds in the LAR patch notes, so you can always check there as well first.

Sorry, I meant db's not bins, my fault... I updated previous post as well.

You need to unpack the db's with an unpacker. The db files are the main file "containers" that have ALL of the game files. There are 2 in the root dir named "gamedata" db0 and db1. Then there are 14 others in the gamedata dir. as well.

If it is not there (gamedata\scripts), then you did not fully extract the db's. Ensure to extract the two db's in the root dir as well.

If you did not hit the first time points are awarded (I think after fox?) then you may not need to start a new game. You will have to test it yourself, in theory I think replacing those 1's with another #, 4 in your case, should work.

I do not know the repercussions of how it would affect later game though. If there was some kind of cap built in, or some other unforeseen issue. My guess is it will just crash, but there will be no turning back and you would need to start a new game and revert back to the original file.

Just to make sure on same page, as it is not my doing. I have no programming capability to even begin to tinker with how the dev mode works. Unless it has something to do with the updated bins or configurator as you mention, but I really have no idea as I did not create them.

See if you can get the dev mode working through bypassing the configurator. Instructions to do so are in the LAR patch notes.

Not sure sorry, but I do not think so.

What are trying to do? Just edit the actor ltx if you want faster run speed, or more carry weight, etc... if that is what you are trying to do.

Nope, but you could change the amount rewarded if you really wanted to. You would need to unpack the files, then look for "xr_effects.script" in the scripts folder.

Search for the keyword "skill." Then play around with the point distribution qty. There are some instances of 1 in there, try changing those 1's to 2's and see what happens. A new game may be required to see the changes.

You would not want to change it to a large #, or a # that may go over the cap though. I am actually not sure what the cap is, but if you go over, I have no doubt it would crash.

LAR does not change anything that would affect the dev mode. DC (1.4007) changed how the dev mode works. I never used it, so I cannot help. There are people that got it working, but it is buried in the comments here.

There is a way to get it partially working I believe (for DC, it will work with LAR as well), you would have to check back on comments here or do a google search though.
