Hellhounds appear in a couple places in Ultimate Doom. Black barrels sometimes give you gas ammo. Casings give off smoke when ejected. Falling damage has been implemented. There's a new shader. The skill menu's been fixed.
Everywhere the Brutal Doom puts new Cacodemons, I've changed them to Brutal Doom 64 Hellhounds. They're as dangerous as they sound, and they'll rip and tear ya if you're not careful!
Black barrels now have a random chance to give you gas ammo for your Chainsaw and Flamethrower. The ammo's gotta appear somewhere outside of backpacks and weapon pickups, right?
Shotgun casings give off smoke when they come out of your shotguns and those of the Shotgunguys. The effect is right out of Brutal Doom. Yes, SgtMarkIV gets a lot of credit for what's been added this time around.
Strife falling damage has been implemented. It's pretty unforgiving, but there's nothing else in here from Strife. Be careful how far you fall!
I've switched up the shader to 64.fp from Doom 64 CE. It's by ArthurCarvalho and twinaphex. I'm not sure it was a good idea, but we're gonna experiment. It seems to take away glossiness and only really shows up under dynamic lights. On the other hand, it looks good when it's evident and it might speed things up. I'm going to continue to fiddle with different shaders and see what I can make happen texture by texture.
We're close as hell to version 50. Be ready!
