If everything goes well I will update the Old School Remix mod in near future. I'm satisfied with the mod's latest release but some minor changes and new MP1 DMW levels could be fun to create and play.
Updates so far (27.07.2023):
-MP5 is now actually silenced as the model and sound effect suggest
-New/updated loading screens
-Headshots do a bit more damage
-Murdering innocents can result in game over
-Added the official Remedy bonus DMW levels (UES and Mona's Playground) + fixed time record tracking per character
-M79 has a safety range, mostly to protect the enemies using it..
-Aesir levels now flow naturally so you don't lose your weapons between levels
-More accurate snow effects, edited skyboxes and added snow fog to levels
-Optional First Person Mode will be included
If you have some suggestions you can leave them in the comments. I will see if I do something with the Cleaner skins, there are some project files with them using the MP1 mobster faces but I'm not an expert on the character models.
MP1 level DMW remakes (06.08.2023):
-Lupino's Hotel/Bar (+99% done, hand made but based on the dev files example room)-Dead End Alley (0% done, Gognitti boss fight alley)-Subway Station Exit (can be imported from dev files mostly but I might rather do the other two)
I will save the other level ideas for another update somewhere in the future.
Murdering civilians will now result in game over (like in MP1) in Max's apartment levels, as well as letting the ones you can save to be killed.. It's more of a subtle change, not about raising the difficulty. I'll check the other levels too where you could possibly save some extra npc:s from death.
Good work. Thanks
Can you rename the mod on moddb to be WITHOUT VERSION NUMBER?
It looks weird.
Not really because I renamed it to bring attention to the first update in +3 years and make it clear that this is the latest full version, also the previous title was more awkward like "1.01 level pack" lol I was anxious to change it.
My suggestion is to add a new remastered version of the Sam Lake skin. There's a great version of the skin made on Max Payne 3 by Alexey Savvon and it has been released on July 22nd, you can use it as a reference.
I have seen it and yeah why not if someone is up to the task. I don't do character modeling.
Hello my dear brother love your work
one thing I would love to see added back to Max is his badge, it just is awesome and has continuity with the old model from one
is it possible?
