The StG 44 (abbreviation of Sturmgewehr 44, "assault rifle 44") is a German assault rifle developed during World War II by Hugo Schmeisser. It is also known by its early designations as the MP 43 and MP 44 (Maschinenpistole 43 and 44). The StG 44 was an improvement of an earlier design, the Maschinenkarabiner 42(H).
The StG 44 was the first successful assault rifle, with features including an intermediate cartridge (7.92?33mm Kurz), controllable automatic fire, a more compact design than a battle rifle with a higher rate of fire, and being designed primarily for hitting targets within a few hundred metres. Other rifles at the time were designed to hit targets of over a thousand meters, but this was found to be in excess of the range in which most enemy engagements actually took place.
The StG 44 fulfilled its role effectively, particularly on the Eastern Front, offering a greatly increased volume of fire compared to standard infantry rifles. The StG largely influenced the Soviet AK-47, introduced two years after the war concluded. The StG's influence can still be seen in modern assault rifles, which, after World War II, became the global standard for infantry rifles.

The StG44 come with its original L26 silencer (even though they did not produce large quantities of it before the end of the war). It also comes with its own ZF39 side mount, that uses a Zeiss optic (even though it actually never saw true use in the war as this type of mount proved to be very unstable for a fully automatic gun and it would lose zero after only one mag - but hey, it's a game we do whatever the hell we want)

To install the mod simply click add mod on mo2 and then select the zip file, then select LEWD StG44.

For those experiencing a script error with a crash, please go and delete the "enhanced_dryfire.script" file in the script folder. It is calling a function that you seem to miss when not playing modpacks such as GAMMA.

There is no point doing that. I used recorded STG44 sounds, so you can't get any better than this. Also if you really want to use TAZ3 sounds, make the edits yourself after downloading and installing proper assets from Fogs of Spring

Feuer Frei! )) I modified it a bit, can drop it in discord if you're interested. The recoil was too much for me. The shot sounds cool, but I think you put a lot of extra superfluous effort into the other sound options. I really haven't tried aiming with optics in the original mod, but judging by the configuration it was 3d, and I prefer 2d. 3d shell are not good animation, i made better but still the particles look better. I apologize for my broken English, I'm using a translator.
recoil is pretty realistic IMO. I tweaked it. You get some sort of 60-100 practical RPM when you use the scope. Given the fact you are standing (works wonderfully with weapon aim sway mod), with a heavy gun with very basic if NO recoil compensation (in opposite to AKM-59 counter-recoil mechanism and muzzle design) it's pretty realistic.
At 25-50m distance it's quite usable at 200-300 RPM, maybe you can use some bursts. In no way after 100m distance you want to shoot faster, you just cant. That's exactly what i wanted. Now if you don't like it, feel free to edit zoom_cam_frac and zoom_cam_inc / dispersion values.
For sounds i've had complaints that some users with low-end tier sound stuff were suffering from the very HIGH volume peak. I had very good audio gear I don't suffer from any clipping even if it's like 8-10 dB above vanilla and usual sound mod audio files. This is why there are presets with master files with lower output dB.
For scope, 3D shader is becoming new standard. If you don't like it, i'm sure some people will make 2D.
Finally, regarding 3d shells i don't know what you mean by bad animations, you'd need a further more details to give here, but anyways i wasn't in charge of this, and I think Teivaz did a marvelous job on absolutely everything regarding this gun

Yeah not every gun is to everybody's liking. What we tried is reflect the real gun the best we could into a game. I would argue that with today's wpn options, nobody would pick a 80 year old gun over something modern like a last gen AK or the MCX Spear. Or take the Sig550 as an example (and I did A LOT of shooting with my service rifle): it's real life performance is probably around 200% better than that StG44. It's like comparing a Ford T with a BMW M5, yet the Ford T is in a sense the father of all modern cars. And so the StG44 is the father of all assault rifles.
With the mod and its settings and configs we're trying to honour that heritage, not trying to make the most efficient wpn in the game.

It's okay friend. I just reduced the animation recoil. now the rifle does not twitch all over the screen))) I thought you might be interested in adding it as an alternative recoil in your mod.

Man, you're wrong, the father of all assault rifles is the BAR.
it's not. the BAR is the "Browning Automatic Rifle". it's a automatic rifle, not an assault rifle. The concept of the assault rifle is:
- intermediate caliber (the 792x33k is a shortened 792x57) vs the BAR .30-06 full rifle caliber
- large mag capacity (30rnds) vs 20
- lightweight 4.6Kg vs 7.25Kg
- short 94cm vs 121cm
you could say the bar is somewhat the father of LMG's but that would probably also not be true exactly... it is a grandiose battle rifle for sure, but not an assault rifle. (besides, the StG literally coined the term "assault rifle")
The BAR is excellent for assault operations due to the high firepower inherent in machine guns, despite the fact that it can be used from the shoulder, and from the hip even a short one can cope with the recoil due to the large mass of the weapon, it has been tested by time and wars, its cartridge is still used today it is being modernized (see HCAR). This is the real father of assault rifles - heavy, loud, powerful, inspiring joy and fear.
you are describing a battle rifle not an assault rifle :)
we are going by the book definition here not by how people "feel" about it. And by definition no gun in a full size rifle cartridge can be an assault rifle (so it exludes all 30cal and its derivatives) sorry bro. I get you, but it's in the sematics really ;)
I rely on facts, and the fact is that the BAR was used as an assault weapon when capturing outposts. Think for yourself, what would be better suited for an assault as a small arms weapon? The fact that it is rapid-fire, lethal and mobile, all these qualities are exactly what the BAR meets.
My friend, you did a great job of concocting the STG44 and introducing cartridges for it, besides, the characteristics of the barrel and cartridges are quite balanced and fit into my build without any changes, which is simply incredible, because I redid all the values of the vanilla Anomaly. I'd love to see more of your modifications!

Let's take something else to make a better example/comparison: all Rallye cars are racecars, yet not all racecars are Rallye cars. You keep argueing that a formula One car is a faster Race car than a Rallye Car (and I keep agreeing), but by definition it is not a Rallye car and will never be one. I might be better than a Rallye car in many racing aspects, but is still not a Rallye car 😎
totally agree with you on all points you made in this funny little debate except the caliber part being relevant to the definition of a battle rifle/assault rifle, however i know what you mean bc i agree that the BAR in its full sized .30-06 is way closer to a battle rifle than an assault rifle, and the stg is totally the father of all assault rifles, and ill give my explanation why - its the layout/ergonomics of the design. the presence of a pistol grip separate from the stock set pretty much the standard design layout for all assault rifles and a lot of battle rifles, as well as the 30 round magazine which (while not as important but definitely sticks out in your image memory) almost always seems to protrude past the bottom of the grip. this combination of features made it to a lot of weapon platforms and without the stg who the **** knows what we would be calling assault rifles today
