The stand-alone mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly aims to be the most stable and customizable experience for fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It's powered by the Monolith 64-bit engine, a custom fork of the X-Ray engine.
Performance-friendly imitation of PiP scopes with some realistic parallax effects
Implementation of 3D scopes shader with magnifying technique and masking out weapon inside lens. The goal was to make something as close to PiP as possible without performance hit. Picture inside scope has constant 1.5x zoom to make "feeling" of optic sight without disturbing it. Also features parallax effects for reticle, magnified image and shadow so that it all looks (more or less) like real optic sights. Parallax effects are set up from my own experience of using optic sights. Some of sights have first focal plane feature (reticle upscales simultaneously with current zoom level).
This addon doesn't have measurable performance impact.
To make all this possible there is a "hack" - a second lens behind first with zero blend, so that scope itself and gun are invisible when looking through scope. Although it works, it seriously affects quality - there is no grass and particles inside scope, also lighting might work inaccurately.
I'm not sure it would become any popular because of these problems and having to adapt every gun individually. So I decided to make sniper rifles with fixed scopes at first, because it doesn't require work with remaking attachments. Consider this addon as a proof of concept.

Only DX10, 11 supported for now. The addon requires latest Modded Exes and Mark Switch Moddb.com
This addon is not compatible with repositions out of the box. That's because scope reticles are now following gun direction (just like Parallax Reflex Sights), so you have to adjust gun positions manually if you use repositions.
Also all weapons with new scopes use new shaders, meaning it's not compatible with reanimations which replace weapon models
DOF part is not compatible with SSS DOF module (this addon overwrites SSS dof effect). To enable new DOF effect you should enter "r2_dof_enable on" in the console. To disable this effect enter "r2_dof_enable off"

Major refactor of the addon. Now all scopes settings are stored in weapons sections, not in different settings file. Now if you add support for new weapon with a detachable scope which is already supported, you only need to adjust .ogf file and its position, scope config will be applied automatically
Also I changed calculation of shadows. Now it's more realistic, and scopes with long eye relief (AUG, G36 and some other) feature more stable shadow, meaning these weapons suit more to use of automatic fire.

Anyone know why the image inside the cope seems has ghostly duplicate shade thingy?
I noticed this issue. I suppose the reason is SSAO or something similiar which renders extra shadows and doing it wrong in lens, because Z-buffer inside it is not changed by texture upscaling.
To fix this there should be some Z-buffer overwrite in reticle lens pixel shader, but I don't know how to do this yet

I've noticed this issue also messing with the normal shader based 2d scopes and reshade. It seems that the shaders don't properly update the depth buffer, so any reshade shader that interact with the depth buffer will give you these ghostly artifacts like that when aiming with a scope.
Have you tried to set reshade_depth_input_is_reversed to 0 and not the default 1 that comes with reshade standard install?

Nvidia image Scaling, i think newer models has this setting in its control panel. basically make image nicer and sharper..
this wouldn't fix the problem, all it does is reverse the depth output of the depth buffer. Reshade cannot interact with the game in any way that would allow you to fix the problem by changing settings or anything similar to that.
For anyone wondering: zbuffer overwrite (writing to SV_Depth along with SV_Target) doesn't fix it. I suppose the problem is in renderer pipeline
Holy crap, 3D scopes! Meh, sucks my laptop is weakass, I can play only DX8 and barely DX9.. aight, in the future (no ideas when) I'll try this masterpiece.
These aren't 3D scopes. They're just 2D scopes with parallax effects.
Oh.. but they are still better than vanilla one!
I noticed a couple of bugs with this mod.
1. Light sources are ignored when scoping in (excluding the sun)
2. For some reason there are heavy framerate drops with this mod enabled near light sources even when you're not scoping.
3. Volumetric smoke (doesn't exist in vanilla levels since fog volumes aren't placed there, but with mods it does) get ignored when scoping in
I'm afraid 1. and 3. are non-fixable without deep reworking of renderer in engine. The reason why you can see through lens is second, deferred geometry lens which renders nothing. Pretty dirt hack because you normally shouldn't be able to see through such objects
But 2. is not expected. Could you check, does the framerate drops only with some light sources? Does it happen without active weapon hud with lens? With the mod disabled?
