Role PlayingWelcome to SoulFighter, where every adventurer's dreams becomes reality. Killing monsters to become the mightiest warrior in your kingdom? You can. You...
Blending together traditional RPG systems, tycoon style mechanics and a fantasy overworld, Merchant aims to reimagine the traditional mobile RPG. In Merchant, players take the role of a shopkeeper who must manage a team of Heroes and Crafters. Heroes are sent out on quests in order to fight enemies and gather materials. Crafters then use those materials to create weapons and armor. As the shopkeeper, players must balance their micro-economies between selling items for gold and crafting items to better ensure success for the Heroes.
Heroes are hired by the player and are sent out on quests in order to earn money and gather materials. Players start with access to three basic Heroes (Warrior, Rogue, and Mage) and will unlock more Heroes as they play the game. Each Hero has different base and scaling stats that make their role unique, most readily displayed during party quests. Party quests allow the player to send out multiple Heroes on a single quest in order to defeat a boss character. Players must choose an optimal formation for their Heroes in order to achieve the best results. Experiment with different combinations to find various methods of victory!
There are five different types of Crafters in Merchant: Blacksmith, Armorsmith, Woodworker, Clothworker, and Alchemist. Each of the game’s Crafters make items suited to their trade that have varying uses, whether it be a potion, bludgeon, staff, or anything in-between. Crafting items requires both gold and materials; as the Merchant, it is important to leverage selling items and loot against equipping them to a Hero to optimize both Hero strength and gold.
The primary goal in Merchant is to progress through the game world and enemy hierarchy. Defeating enemies rewards Heroes with gold, experience, and materials. Although the first enemies may come easy, later foes can be quite intimidating if your Heroes lack fortitude in battle. Make sure you you've equipped your Hero well before sending them out to fight! And if you’re lucky enough, you may even come across some of the rare opponents that Merchant has to offer...

In my case, I'm finding that the starting few days are difficult. Picked a ranger, am up to level 6, usually very successful in missions, except that it's merely doing a lot of the same thing, over and over again. I've set as my own goal attempting to hire a second guy, which I'm not sure what he should be. So for now, it's just "quest - craft - quest - craft - heal" repeated over and over. And I'm slowly stockpiling some spiderwebs and fangs that I'm not sure whether to just sell to clear up storage space.
