This is a work started 21 years ago but never finished due to life changes and other complications. Last year I got a wild hair and decided to finish it. The things I wanted to do were not available back in the day but with the advent of the Splendor Mod and its EXE changes and additions things finally opened up to see an end to a long lost project. Full credit to the SPL MOD team for the excellent innovations added to Homeworld. SPL gave me the inspiration to resume TvsK.
I've tried to reach the author of the Splendor Mod to ask for consent and possible help in translating to different languages and to build upon his work, with no success. Does not reply or answer inquiries. Since this is the situation, I've decided to hope for the best and proceed with this endeavor and give credit where credit is due.
Since these are total conversion Mods I determined that there would be no real harm in using SPL as a base from which to start. TvsK-Small-MS or TvsK-Big-MS will in no way interfere or change the original SPL MOD. TvsK-Small-MS, TvsK-Big-MS, and SPL can co-exist independently within the same game folder. I've made sure TvsK-Small-MS and TvsK-Big-MS do not interfere with an installed SPL MOD or change any settings of an installed SPL MOD. All 3 Mods can be played from the same game folder completely independent.
The easiest way to play all 3 is to create shortcuts from all 3 EXE files on the desktop.

Turanic vs Kadesh (TvsK-Small-MS) MOD, Turanic vs Kadesh Big Mothership (TvsK-Big-MS) MOD, SPL (Splendor) MOD, Homeworld COPYRIGHT AND NOTES:
Homeworld Splendor MOD based on original English version Homeworld 1B.05, created by Relic Entertainment. The Homeworld IP rights now owned by Gearbox Software.
The SPLendor Mod is freeware and may be freely used and distributed under the condition that the integrity of its files will not be in any way broken.
Homeworld Turanic vs Kadesh and Homeworld Turanic vs Kadesh Big Mothership conversion Mods built from the SPL mod enhancements is free to distribute under the above conditions.

INSTALLATION:
- Unzip. Depending on which mod you have, drop files from "TvsK-Small-mod" or "TvsK-Big-mod" MOD folder int your Homeworld directory.
- Overwrite if asked. I've included SPL music files pack since they are better than the original.
- Make a shortcut on your desktop to the "HW-TvsK-Small-MS.exe" or "HW-TvsK-Big-MS.exe". This will be your mod start icon. If you do not use the shortcut you may have to reset your video options in game every time you play.
- I've added a folder (HW-Fixes-If-Needed) with some files that may or may not be of use, to ensure you can play Homeworld (original). Use if needed.
- To uninstall, delete files:
TvsK-Small-MS: SavedGameTvsKS (folder), HW-TvsK-Small-MS.exe, TvsK-S.big, commandlineTvK.txt, debugMessagesTvK.txt
TvsK-Big-MS: SavedGameTvsKB (folder), HW-TvsK-Big-MS.exe, TvsK-B.big, commandlineTvK.txt, debugMessagesTvK.txt
- There's really no need to delete the files. They don't take up much room. The games play independently from each other. There is no crossover from one game to another. Original Homeworld, Homeworld TvsK-Small, Homeworld TvsK-Big, Homeworld SPL, all run independently within the same folder and no modifications are done to any installed games.

IMPORTANT:
1) Increase game speed: The (\) key can be used to increase speed of game to x8. This comes in very handy during slow times in game like harvesting between missions.
2) All 4 games have independent "SavedGames" folders. They are not interchangeable.
3) TvsK-Small-MS, TvsK-Big-MS, have separate and independent "CommandLine.TXT" files from SPL for setting each game independently. Using (#) before the command disables it.
4) TvsK-Small-MS, TvsK-Big-MS, will output different debug files (debugMessagesTvK.txt) from SPL (DebugMessagesSPL.txt) to differentiate between them. They are reset after every game.
5) If you have trouble starting the game, try running the shortcut as ADMINISTRATOR.
6) If the game opens but you can't get past the opening menu, try deleting the "homeworld.cfg" (configuration) file. The game will reset and make a new file.
7) If the game crashes while loading a map or mission, Try setting the video to (GL) default openGL. Some machines don't want to run the game in D3D. You may get a crash running D3D. It's been reported that in some cases you may not be able to switch from SW directly to openGL. You may have to switch to D3D and then to openGL.
8) Check the version number at the top of this file to make sure you have the latest release. It will have the version number for each mod. Any mod that does not have this version number will be an older mod.
9) Parade formation with other race Motherships: Select Mothership. You'll get a "Mothership" voice notice. Now while holding down the SHFT key select or band box the ships you want to put into parade around the Mothership. Works every time.
- What's happening when you select several ships: The first ship you select get's put in the lead position. When band boxing it will vary depending on which ship the game selects first. When you select the Mothership first it becomes the lead ship.
- A problem you may encounter: If you select the Mothership first and then bandbox ships including the mothership, you may have forfeited the motherships lead status because you band boxed it along with the rest of the ships. Only select the Mothership once.

MULTI-PLAYER:
I've included a plethora of maps. They're not my designs. They were gathered from the internet. Not sure how many. I've not counted them all but there are over 100 maps. All I could find.
I've made a few global changes in order to have specific ships appear and enabled for build in ALL maps. These ships are not normally enabled.

SOME GAME DIFFERENCES:
1) Sub-systems were created using 2 ship slots from each race. Because of the Sub-Systems and the way they work. "SP" games will not dock (research ship, sensors array) sub-systems when hyperspacing. The Quick-Dock button is required to force docking before hyperspacing to the next mission.
2) The two mods (TvsK-S, TvsK-B) are very different. Each has its own roster.
2A) TvsK-S: There are a few shared slots between r1 and r2, however most slots are not duplicated on the other side. For instance: R1 Kadesh Swarmer (Light Defender slot) builds but r2 Turanic Heavy Corvette (Light Defender slot) does not. This was done purposefully to avoid name conflicts. Because the two races are extremely different double naming was out of the question. It only serves to confuse and clutter. These un-buildable slots are by no means empty slots. Every slot is filled but every slot is not buildable or researchable. These slots are used as "CRATE" gifts, starting fleet additions in MP maps, and also to be encountered in Single Player missions. They'll all make an appearance somewhere.
2B) TvsK-B: All slots are buildable. There are also some ship rearangements and model changes. This MOD is designed to function more like the original Homeworld.
3) Some ships will not perform as their counterparts in 'vanilla HW'. Their roles have been altered to suit the ship changes in game.
4) Kadesh Fuel Pod will be very important to Swarmers. Keep plenty around and have them follow your Swarmer squadrons.
5) Resource collectors have been weaponized. The harvest beam does considerably more damage than before. You can use it in a pinch.

SINGLE PLAYER POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND:
- Single Player hyperspace requires the 'quick dock option' to hyperspace because of subsystems as mentioned above.
- "TvsK-Small-MS" Cruisers and Motherships can not be captured, however if you make it to level 9 there is a surprise gift at the end of the mission. Can't say what it is. You'll just have to find out for yourself.
- "TvsK-Big-MS" All ships are capturable except Turanic and Kadesh Motherships.
OTHER SINGLE PLAYER CHANGES:
I made changes according to how I interpreted the races to be if expanded. This made the races very different from each other. Strategies and options will be very different for each race.
- Levels will play a little differently depending on which race the player uses.
- A few level maps have been altered to some extent to accomodate the slot changes.
- If you don't research anything in level 3, then Bentusi will offer you plasma tech instead of Ion tech. This may be more useful in level 4.
- TvK: Level 12 will see a surprise twist in the plot.
- Level 13 "Junk yard" junk ships have been changed.
- Level 16 will have another big surprise.
