Looking for:
- Concept Artist (sci-fi hard surface)
- Creative Gameplay Designer

We are a team of two (a 3d artist/product manager + a programmer) working on a 3d action-adventure game with some light puzzle elements, mainly played in a top-down view.

As a player, you are guiding Bob, a newborn robot companion, who you have to help find a way out of a mysterious terraforming facility where objects are coming together to form living machines.
Adventure and explore through an atmospheric environment, use Bob’s energy manipulation powers to trick dangerous robots and make your way through puzzling facility systems.

We are very determined to make a great demo before June 2020. It should serve both to show what we are capable of achieving, generate interest and as a kicker portfolio piece, and from there we’d decide if we want to pursue a financial goal with it.

Here is where we would want to invite someone to the team that desires to help in coming up with different interactions and specific scenarios that build up from the existing story, features, and mechanics,
as well as someone to help us visualize our characters and various aspects of the facility.

What can we offer you?
- We are a team committed on releasing a quality demo for the first half of 2020. (Working 15-30+ a week each average)
- Both of us have worked on published games before and we have set up an effective workflow based on that experience.
- Practice your craft based on our preliminary design, instead of from scratch.

Concept Artist

What do we need help with?

  • Help us visualize already established ideas and with an exploration of new ones, by producing concept art for robot characters, technological props or environments.

Visual Characteristics:

  • Hard surface, sci-fi, robotics
  • The design we are going for doesn’t have to be practical but it should give the illusion of being practical and functional.
  • Robots - robots in manufacturing with some sci-fi characteristics
  • Environment - manufacturing-oriented facility, interiors, workstations, manufacturing areas, technological props

Requirements:
Our experience shows that we would very much prefer someone near our age range (we are around 30), yet there are plenty of talented younger concept artists, so 19-21+ seems sensible, and better yet if the timezone is also similar to ours (GMT +1 currently).

Bonus points if you are is a science fiction and robots fan, and especially if you are familiar with engineering, mechanical design, industrial architecture, manufacturing or robotics.

Creative Gameplay Designer

What do we need help with?

  • Design interesting gameplay scenarios that build up from the existing story, features, and mechanics.
  • Design mechanics and challenges around Bob’s manipulation powers, robot behaviors, and facility systems.
  • Document and share such scenarios so we can all build awesome stuff from it.

Requirements:
We would very much prefer someone near our age range or at least 26+ (we are around 30), and better if the timezone is also similar to ours (GMT +1 currently).

It should also be someone with previous experience as a Creative Gameplay Designer and the Unity Engine.

Bonus PooOOOooints:
Notions about Finite State Machines / simple to moderate AI, as we are having robots moving around and interacting with each other.
Have used Behavior Designer before.
