Competition - Concept Art Competition

The quick background story is we have two Alienware PC's up for grabs and want to see something creative, so we challenge you with a game concept art competition, whereby you must create an original image which fits one of the following 7 themes:

• Noir
• The Warlord
• Riot Control
• Alien Experiment
• The Chemical Man
• War on the Water
• Intergalactic Space Opera

In return, we'll give your art "its day in court" and let the Mod DB community and our esteemed judging panel from The Art Institute Online determine if your work truly is professional grade. Now is your chance to bring your best game art forward for recognition, fame and a chance to WIN one of TWO Alienware Area-51® 7500 MSR valued at $3,099US EACH!

20th Nov 2007	Submission of artwork closes
28th Nov 2007	Showcase Unveiled and community voting begins
7th Dec 2007	Community voting closes. The submission with the most votes will be selected as the "People's Choice" but will not be announced until The Art Institute Online' winning selection has been made by the judging panel.
10th Dec 2007	Judging of Top 10 submissions by AiO panelists
15th Dec 2007	Results public - "People's Choice" and the "AiO Game Art Award"

Judging

Your submission will be judged on two levels:

1. Your Peers – A showcase of the first 50 entries will include voting mechanisms for the Mod DB and Addon DB community to make their opinion of your work known by selecting or not selecting your work for a prize. The top choice of the community will be entitled to the "People's Choice Award".
2. The Art Institute Online' Expert Judges – Once the Mod DB and Addon DB communities have cast their vote, the pool of entries will be narrowed down to the Top 10. Those 10 entries will be judged by the Art Institute Online' illustrious panel of judges. They will select only one entry to be crowned with the "Art Institute Online' Game Art Award" title, recognition and prize.

Mod DB staff reserve the right to disqualify any submission that they believe may be in violation of rules. Mod DB reserves the right to amend any of the above during the course of the contest with or without notice.

Submission Process

Submit one and only one, finished rendering that is your original creation. When your crowning achievement is complete, submit your final entry to us here at Mod DB by following the instructions below:

• Firstly, we encourage you to join in the competition discussion and share your work in progress shots in this forum thread so we can provide feedback and help you on your way to winning!
• When your work is ready for submission, please zip it up and email it through to CLOSED
