Tracing its origins to an innovative German and French design developed shortly before the Third World War, the New European Heavy Armour System - dubbed Leopard 4 in German service - is widely considered the most technologically advanced tank in the world. A completely new design, the "Leo Vier" is in many ways a rebuttal to its patchy predecessor from the 2020s. Where the Leopard 3 mounted a manually loaded 125mm cannon built for compatibility with Chinese ammunition during the short period of the Eurasian Unity League, the new tank was equipped with a modified version of the powerful 140mm cannon used on the Jagdmammut tank destroyer. A sophisticated auto-loader of French design reduces the number of crew members to three, with the former loaders being assigned to form crews for a larger number of new tanks built in British and Spanish factories during the war. Whilst the older Leopard 3 still forms the bulk of the European armoured forces, the Leopard 4 is now entering service at a rapid rate for Operation Charlemagne, the decisive ECA campaign to liberate Germany from the Russian occupation in March 2049.

The Leopard 4 is a model update for the European Leopard in the community patch "Hanpatch" for the mod "Rise of the Reds".
