NLC7 and Linux were never on speaking terms, NLC7 uses custom exe and engine changes as well as some old(?) libraries to use, these are either locked on windows or no longer a thing in Linux ( or never were), I don't know, I can't help here but say to dual boot into Windows and play it there.

Can you give me more context on what is happening and what happened surronding the problem

The interesting thing is that, K is the dead letter,it just doesnt work,if you get a K you are pretty much screwed but it is very easy to just reroll,neither me nor my friend can really understand why,prob a script quirk with how numbers are applied

On one of the cars in the middle of the map,a long bed truck,you will find the canister of gas in the trucks back,(the truck is still intact).
As for the Puzzles,they are confusing,not by design by mere UI,basically,once you have inputed the right number and heard the correct sound,in the top left stack of numbers,the number you need to input is the one next to the one you just inputed.Its confusing but heres a easier to understand example,you have the stack it has 10 numbers,first is A so you put 1,its correct and the stack updates,now,you need to see the second number of the stack bc youre in the second round of the puzzle.
As for Weirdo,where the circle popped you should look to the ground to see a broken detector,its around there somewhere.
