The purpose of Wargames is to give vanilla BF2 a new feeling. Weapons will mostly instantly kill you (or greatly drop your health), kits are now based more on national military equipment, vehicles have stronger weapons, and the amount of bots in single-player has been increased. I've merged a bit of content from the XPACK to increase weapon, faction and vehicle variation, but I plan to keep these merges extremely limited as respect to DICE for their wonderful games.

China, Russia, America, the UK and the MEC have all been overhauled and their kits have been adjusted. The EU is currently having their classes adjusted and singleplayer maps have had their 64 player variants been integrated.

AT weapons are a lot more formidable now and kill MBTs in around 2-3 shots. APCs have been made weaker and plane autocannons have been buffed. I'm working on re balancing weapon hitpoints.

One of my later objectives is adjusting the in-game AI to engage at longer distances. For the best in-game experience on release I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty.

The next teams I want to adjust will be the EU, SEALs and MEC:SF. The EU will currently be placeheld by Australia until I can find a way to add new individual factions without crashing to desktop. Any suggestions and help are welcome.

My main objective with Wargames is to create a fun, easily run, yet strategically complicated experience. I won't be using weapons from the later BF games for the sake of copywrite, and I also just personally think the vanilla BF2 style has a nice air of nostalgia to it.

New Progress

Hey everyone, long time no see. I've had to restart this project from scratch so it'll be a bit longer until I can post an official release. Currently I've made decent progress on rebuilding what I had before, although there's been a few changes. You can view these under the summary.

Midnight Sun is now fought between a US militia and Russian forces.

Weapon damage has been increased even higher.

I'm currently looking into improving the AI to engage at a longer range.
