Current Version: 1.0.8 Released: 2/21/17

While not an official patch, this mod represents my best effort to give the art, models, and campaign story of Battlezone II just as much of a makeover and update, as the 1.3 series of patches have done for the game's code.

This mod makes changes to the stock odf files, and is designed to run alongside patch 1.3.7.2 and higher, and any mods that use the stock odf and art assets, though additional changes to bzone.cfg file may be necessary

In late 2014, I got the urge to replay Battlezone II's campaign after a long absence, and while I still love the initial designs, the artwork and models just haven't held up well over the past 16 years. My first step was to redo all the textures. This helped, but I still saw many visual issues, so in Jan 2015, I started working on the models. Over the course of 2015 I rebuilt pretty much everything, and towards the end, I also reworked the SP campaign to unify the two contradictory endings and eliminate the need for multiple pilot logins.

I would encourage you to create a new pilot and play the campaign again. Existing campaigns under pilots will likely no longer work anyway. While the mission play is essentially the same, all of the briefs and debriefs have been revised for more background detail, better story flow, and consistency with Battlezone (1998)

Is anyone else having a bug where if you try to join the scions, you fail the mission instead of starting the scion campaign?

It's not a bug. I rearranged the campaign so that you play all the missions, but complete the ISDF first.

The retextures are absolutely amazing!

I know you've mentioned before that you felt the branching didn't fit.
But can I just confirm, is there no scion campaign at all?
I agree the branching was weird, but I enjoyed having story driven scion missions to do. (It's nice to have a change after a while)
It would be great to have your retextures with the scion campaign as well as the ISDF one.

You play the Scion campaign after you destroy Core as the ISDF.

I have literally just got to that bit. Thanks for the reply anyway!
Amazing, I always disliked having to pick on or the other.

This mod is incredible!

Thanks, glad you like the mod.

I never liked the picking either. It kind of messes up the canonical story with the contradictory endings. I think the orig devs or the publisher had it done as a sort of gimmick.
