Black Mesa: Uplink is the recreation of the Half-Life demo (HL: Uplink) released by Valve in early 1999 which featured content that was scrapped from the original storyline.
In the 2012 version of Uplink the transmitter dome was found right next to the stalkyard. In the original Uplink, the dome was behind a mountain pass beyond the stalkyard and so it will be again in the Redux version! As you can see from the 2012 screenshot in the corner, the visuals have been improved greatly and there is more space to explore. Thusfar I've improved the new version by making things larger, but the dome is actually a little bit smaller now and will be less open on the inside for gameplay purposes. Exploring the area will grant you with goodies, but can also be potentionally dangerous, with new enemies spawning in.
Happy new year
Very cool.
The Jeep wreck and truck are appear to be facing the exact same angle. Doesn't look so good that being said the street is clear. No dead bodies nor any indication for an airstrike of sorts.
I'd change the angular of the jeep to be in alignment with the street direction. At the moment it looks as if the car was reverse driving in the middle of the street before something wrecked it.
Looking at it from this direction that might indeed make more sense. Thanks for the suggestion!
Very nice!
How does anyone get out of those parking spots? Yeah, lemme just reverse all the way down the road.
You just put it in reverse, drive over the striped line and continue on the right side?
Since it's internal infastructure (only for BM employees) I'd imagine the builders would prefer efficient usage of space (especially in canyons) over normal traffic regulations. I've seen that quite a few times with different companies I've worked for here.
I'm not sure if that's common in the US too?
Probably in German companies that include traffic you usually have to follow the regulations for normal street drive behavior with additional rules being implied when the employer says so.
Still there are also companies in Germany that handle things the same way. I think it really depends on the specialization of the industry complex and the amount of traffic affiliated with it.
Ps. Coming to think about the car again: How about flipping it 90 degrees make it look like the truck in front drove past by it letting it end up on it's side in the process. Some scratches added to the truck or road to illustrate that and Wolla done.
Although not sure if you can apply decals to models in regular source engine.
Can't believe its been 5 years already.
Looking great. This spot was a bit disappointing in 2012 version, and it looks like you've brought some life to it.
