Codename: Dead Bird (CDB) is a singleplayer total conversion for Crysis. CDB puts the player into the Iraq War and focuses on intense modern infantry combat in urban and desert environments. After Iraqi Terrorists assassinated the US President, his successor and western allies started a new Iraq offensive. But instead of giving up, the insurgent forces grew. They even gained control of a Russian fission bomb. To eliminate this new threat the CIA started Codename Dead Bird. A special task force commanded by the player now has to fight the terrorists and diffuse the bomb.
Patrick aka Pat21, our Lead Programmer almost finished programming a completly dynamical airstrike, which allows you (the player) to order an airstrike where ever you want. Furthermore he integrated the whole code in a single flow node (see the node image), where you can define particle effects, number of bombs and a lot more.
Of course, in the following development time, we will spend more time on this feature, to make the airstrike even better. For exmaple a new "Weapon" to define the target + new sounds giving the player feedback that the headquarter received the order.

that's sexy!
I can't even comprehend how amazing this looks. I've seen different environments tested in Crysis but none have managed to capture a totally new feel as this one did.
Buildings should be abit more distructable and the bombs drop wayy too slowly man.
Other than that its really ****** sweet :D
This environment is amazing! Make the bombs fall faster and in more of an arc, and you'll have the best lookin' airstrike I've ever seen!
That was amazing. Dumb bombs should fall so slowly and lazily as that though - I agree with Yronno's comment.
I feel like there should be more smoke and dust.
i think its a bit much to ask for destructible buildings but it would be nice if it looked like it did a bit more damage.i agree with "peasant" and think more smoke and dust would make it look way more effective.also holy **** that was a nice video watched it 4 time and still gonna watch it again
great particle effects, i couldn't help but notice the hand though... i don't know if it's the rig or the actual thumb, but it looks very odd
hahaha wow, those effects are awsum
