I think all these weapons need is rebooted animations similar to Brutal HL, crowbar is fine and even doing something as simple as getting the OpFor MP5 animations going in here would be a pretty nice improvement.
That’s not a bad idea for the MP5. But otherwise no, the animations are not going to be drastically altered as that is not the intent of the mod. Most of the animations have been cleaned up to remove cartoonish recoil or hands hovering and clipping though.
The weapons used to sit right under Gordon’s chin. Now they’re actually being held out in front of him. Everyone has their own opinion but I think it’s no contest at this point.
I noticed what crossbow clip still have missing faces on top, I hope you fix that, also about MP5 I think is good idea try using anims from OpFor-Blue Shift like someone suggested, because in HL reload anim hand barely touch that clip.
Yeah the xbow magazine will be fixed. It's on the to-do list but I didn't get to it before making the video. The MP5 reload animation I decided to just make a new one so I completed Gordon's left hand as it used to be literally just a thumb.
great work overall, although i appreciate the higher fov so we can have a better angle at the weapons details, i find the mp5 a little odd looking since it seems to be too high on the screen. i've understood you're going to work on a new reload animation for it, perhaps you could consider tinkering with that as well?
That's not fun, it's just frustrating. Half-Life is a fast paced game, and making you wait between weapon changes is just punishment. I played a few mods that implemented holstering and it raised my blood pressure after awhile.
I liked holstering feature, in my attempt of editing HL code I returned it, its weird what weapon just disappear and got momentarily switched to another one. Also I think it will not be that frustrating if both holster and draw anims will be speed up so they didn't take long time.
Also interesting thing what Valve made both weapon holstering anims in both HL and HL2 but they didn't finished that feature in either of games.

I feel the heavy crowbar attack should have a meatier/sharper sound effect, could give it more impact when striking objects.
There is a meatier sound for bashing enemies but you’re right, there should be one for hitting the world as well.

Not a big fan of how the fov for weapons has changed, or how the new mp5 looks, or how Gordon's hand looks messed up when reloading the shotgun.

Maybe you should bring back holstering anims as well for the sake of making it more difficult to switch the weapons.

When its release, its very long since were it here.
