The 2021 version of the Doom 3 mod "HardQore 2" is available for the modern source port Dhewm 3. Now titled "Hard Corps." HC updates the original mod's 2.5d game play and visuals. Everything from the Slayer's arsenal, enemy AI, controls, guis, lighting, melee combat and more have been upgraded.

HC supports aiming with the keyboard OR mouse. Check the game options to change them. You can use an app such as joy2key for controllers as well. A full article detailing the controls is found HERE.
The 2 level demo includes an updated version of the original level Wasted Hate and the new Hell Rizer map. Hell Rizer features the addition of jump through platforms and is laid out similar to a certain level from an NES classic run n' gun platformer. As you battle your way through the map, you'll encounter new explosive enemies such as Fiends and the Pain Elemental.
Content authors will also find 2 additional levels showcasing many more gameplay features not seen in the levels. This includes moving in and out of the background, various kinds of platforms and hazards. The download includes developer documents with information and images on how to create your own levels for the mod. It is easily possible to remake gameplay and levels from many classic titles including Contra, Mario, Ninja Gaiden, Metal Slug & Castlevania with the Hard Corps source. The updated GPL source code will be released soon on Github.
With Dhewm 3's modern cross platform support, players can continue to enjoy Doom 3 mods. The first HardQore was Released for Quake 4 back in 2007. The unfinished sequel HardQore 2 then came out in 2009. The future of Hard Corps rest in feedback and demand. With so much of the game play now updated, more time can now be focused on creating maps and new features for the mod. Been trying to run them on Delta Touch Dhewm3 1.5.2. For Hard corps im getting Error: file script/entity_physics.script, line 12: Unknown event 'getMass'
And this for HardQore2
Error: file script/doom_events.script, line 245: Unknown event 'getShaderVolume'
I was able to get HardCorps running on mobile with idTech4a++ but HardQore2 does the same thing (CTD at menu initialization)
Rivensin works fine on Delta Touch. (Just needs some control remapping for custom buttons)

I did everything that you said in your read me and detailed guide but still cant make it work.
I even created a shortcut called HARD COPS,the game launch but i get about 256 warning errors and the game wont launch .
Most of them are about unknown string ID oh and also im using the steam version
have you copied the pak files from the Doom 3 base folder install over to dhewm 3 base install? For that many errors it sounds like something was skipped or put in the wrong directory.
can post a some of the error messages?

I cannot seem to set screen settings properly? I have a 3080 with ultrawide, and I set settings to 2440x, ultra etc. but it doesn't actually take the settings after a restart, it sits as a square 1080x? Am I missing something as it was really quite hard to get it to go full screen - had to click the settings which restarted, then actually fully quit the game and restart before fulll screen took effect, but actual screen resoultion will not take?
I have not tested at that high of a resolution. This is the first time i'm hearing of this. Do you have this issue running just dhewm 3 or the mod?
Hi, thanks for getting back to me. So my desktop native is 3440x1440. I have run DHWEM 1.5.0 and 1.5.1 at 2560x1440 and that works (I might have had to change the size in the config as well, manually). The settings box was somewhat different to base dhwem, and it had 16x9 16x10, but that didn't seem tomake any difference. In fact it was difficult to get any setting for display set, and it asked to restart, which it did with a screetch (not something base did you have to manually restart). Anyways, after much fiddling, and using 1.5.0 and copying your folder, dll, and bat over, it finally went full screen and 2440X1600 and was able to play it. So not sure the graphics settings are saving correctly or being applied correctly.
Did it work in Rivensin by any chance? I’m trying to figure out if it is the mod’s menu or dhewm 3 itself.
I just tried the latest Rivensin. The settings was smoother, but the aspect ratio did not make any difference to anything. Did not appear to have 16:9 resolutions. It was able to update pretty easily, but I could only run it at 2560x1440, there was no 3440x1440 option. So it ran fine and changed resolution, but had black bars at the side, where running base D3 game did not have this. I have the cfg file with set resolution 3440x1440.
This helps. I wrote the gui for rivensin so it is easier to implant in it. Could you message me a link to the config so i may snoop. The other question is what other resolutions i need to add into the mods. Hc & rivensin the resolution differently . I have thought about porting the rivensin menu & changing the images because it is more simple
Which config would you like? Its essentially these:

For me, I suspect Ultra Wide is not so widely used, so pretty much anything that stretches to it. I sent you over a full dhwem.cfg.
