High resolution textures, higher render distance, better LOD quality, reflection and specular light tweaks.
4. After clicking on "OK" or "Apply", copy the dgVoodoo.conf file to your game folder. (e.g. D:\Games\Battlefield 1942)
If you play on higher resolutions (1440p or more) and better AA, AF settings, you can try very low values like -5. If you see texture shimmering, your value is too low. (Optional is -1 to -3)
Obviously this is for nVidia GPUs and you can set most of these in the official control panel. But this is the only way to force Ambient Occlusion.
(For AMD cards, you can open your control panel and force Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering or better texture filtering too. I just don't have images right now for a tutorial.)
You can try other Ambient Occlusion settings too. "Lords of the Fallen" worked well for me.
Don't force 8x AA if your GPU can't handle it. Don't forget to press on "Apply changes" in the upper right corner after you are are done.
Hello everyone, My name is LuccaWulf. Some of you may already know me from the HelloClan community or any other related Battlefield 1942 communities and...
Updated skybox for the base game. This will only work on certain servers.
A missing folder from the "Base pack". Please download this.
Graphics update for the official expansion packs. Multiplayer compatible textures and additional mods with advanced tweaks.
This works as a normal BF1942 mod. Run the graphics mod from "Custom game" menu. Requires the base "Graphics Pack 1.0 beta" pack for full experience.
Main mod with texture overhaul and other tweaks that works on original multiplayer servers too.
This works as a normal BF1942 mod. Run the graphics mod from "Custom game" menu. Requires the base "Graphics Pack 0.999" pack for full experience.
The view distance is too extreme for people with a weaker system.
I tested Bocage which is set to 1500, and on my i7-11700 with RTX 4070 Ti it dropped me below 60 FPS on 1080p.
Since i only plan on using this for a singleplayer playthrough i tweaked them back for all maps to default +100. I personally like it better that way and the FPS is stable.
And for NVIDIA users i can highly recommend using 4xSGSSAA (Sparse Gride SuperSampling Anti-Aliasing) to get rid of the shimmering textures. This only works without dgVoodoo and ReShade though.
Something is also messed up with the weapon animations, they're jerky looking, like capped at 30 FPS. In the base game they're smooth.
Can I combine this mod with other mods?
yes
doesnt work
game crashes after intro video on high end pc
Do you think Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 can share the same flags for Ambient Occlusion, since they use the same engine? I tried all the BF2-specific AO flags I can find on the internet but they don't seem to work anymore...
BF2 is using a heavily updated engine on DirectX9. So i don't think the same settings would work. My only tip is to try all options one by one.
Even for BF1942 forced AO only works, because i use dgVoodoo which is a DX11 wrapper. Maybe you could use it for BF2 too
Hello, will there be an update for the Mod? I recently reinstalled everything, including this mod or add-on (whatever you prefer to call it). I prefer the one at Nexus Mods as it was easy to use and ready to go.
The mod is still under development, so future updates are coming, but i'm not sure when. I will try to upload new screenshots too soon.
I had to separate things here, because moddb has a file size limit. Nexusmods made me able to upload it easier. And that version is actually a bit more fresh, but the difference is minimal
can this HD remaster be combined with other mods like Battlegroup42 or Forgotten Hope?
You will see some graphics changes for other mods, if you install my mod.
