If you have previous versions of HL2MMod installed : Remove them, make sure that your sourcemods folder has no folders named HL2MMod, otherwise mod will function incorrectly/crash/glitch/explode/start a thermonuclear war.
Do a clean install, don't overwrite any files. Clean install only. Clean, as in c-l-e-a-n. Don't load any older saves too. Start anew.

Due to the nature of this mod and how Source Engine 2013/Steam handles Source Engine content you !!!!!!!HAVE TO HAVE ALL HALF-LIFE 2 GAMES AND MOD INSTALLED ON SAME LOGICAL DISK/DRIVE AS YOUR STEAM INSTALLATION!!!!!!!, for example if you have Steam installed on C:/ drive, then you have to install all games you want to play and mod itself on the same drive ( C:/ in our case ), otherwise you will have a crash on startup or error saying "Unable to find surface properties". Same goes for Cinematic Mod support, same drive as mod/hl2 games.
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL ALL HALF-LIFE 2 GAMES YOU WANT TO PLAY WITH MMOD ON THE SAME LOGICAL HARD DRIVE/DISK AS YOUR STEAM, OTHERWISE IT WILL NOT WORK.

HOW TO MAKE CINEMATIC MOD 2013 WORK WITH HL2MMOD :

1) Grab the official download from Cinematicmod.com
2) Install it as instructed ( ON THE SAME DRIVE AS YOUR STEAM, HL2 GAMES AND MMOD INSTALLATION, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT ).
3) After you installed it, make sure if works on its own. If everything is alright proceed to next step.
4a) For HL2 Version of Cinematic Mod : Locate CM2013HL2 "maps" folder ( \Steam\steamapps\common\CM2013\hl2\custom\1_CM_looseFiles ), copy it ( maps folder ) into ( \Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\HL2MMod_Cinematic_HL2 ), it should take a while.
4b) For HL2 EP1 Version of Cinematic Mod : Locate CM2013HL2EP1 "maps" folder ( \Steam\steamapps\common\CM2013\episodic\custom\1_CM_looseFiles ), copy it ( maps folder ) into ( \Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\HL2MMod_Cinematic_EP1 ).
4c) For HL2 EP2 Version of Cinematic Mod : Locate CM2013HL2EP2 "maps" folder ( \Steam\steamapps\common\CM2013\ep2\custom\1_CM_looseFiles ), copy it ( maps folder ) into ( \Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\HL2MMod_Cinematic_EP2 ).
5) Restart your Steam client

If you did everything correctly you now should have fully working HL2MMod versions of Cinematic Mod 2013. The support for them is highly experimental, so expect glitches or crashes, I've tried my best.

To install the mod put all 10 folders from folder named "PUT THESE FOLDERS INSIDE SOURCEMODS FOLDER" into \Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\ and restart your Steam client, don't forget to restart it before trying to play the mod. You should have 10 folders inside your source mods folder. Don't put "PUT THESE FOLDERS INSIDE SOURCEMODS FOLDER" into source mods folder and expect it to work, put its contents ( 10 folders ) inside your sourcemods folder.

If you did everything correctly you now should have 9 new HL2MMod entries : HL2, EP1, EP2, Lost Coast, HL2 Update, Cinematic Mod 2013 ( HL2/EP1/EP2 ) and Minerva Metastasis. All of them should work now, granted if you read entire document.

On the main menu screen, open up the console and type these commands in order.

Then start up your saved game and it should fix the bug.

Excuse me, I have a somewhat game-breaking bug to report. I can't switch weapons. [I don't have weapon quickselect on btw] It just won't let me switch weapon slots at all. I've looked, reconfigured the buttons for them, it just won't work.

Ep1 is still broken.Now after elite drops the train car there is one more diffrent loop were combine sniper shoots at you and combine blows up doors on the ground floor of the big room. Then looping starts again. Super frustrating!

To play the mod with FFCM music,all you need to do is
copy all files from:

Thank you so much! I was trying to modify the gameinfo file to load these loose files additionally but couldn't get it to work. Do you know how I can get the Cinematic Mod visual effects? My MMOD game doesn't have any bloom or lens flares and the visuals look rather dull.

It's amazing how fast you're getting these patches and improvements out!

You made me want to try it out on Cinematic mod, I've never played it before but I installed it and tried porting the maps into the folder of your mod.

But I'm getting an error message upon launch "Could not load library client. Try Restarting. If that doesn't work, verify the cache." What does this mean?

Found a fix for that
I got that same error message when I only put MMOD for hl2 in sourcemods, but if you put ALL MMods (including lost coast, episode 1, 2, minerva and cinematic mod) in sourcemods, it fixed it. Hope this helps

I put everything in the sourcemods folder from the start and I'm still having issues. After about five minutes of googling I copied a "gameinfo.txt" and two files called "client.dylib" and "server.dylib" from the source SDK 2013 into the HL2MMod folder and this actually got the game to run, but the options menu doesn't work, I can't identify any obivous differences except for reload animations and sounds, and the ADS key isn't bindable, so I'm obviously doing something wrong (I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm just good at following instructions). This was on HL2 MMod not Cinematic, but I tried a couple of those and they don't work either.

P.S. It's possible this doesn't matter...but I'm using a Mac (flinches).
